whiskeyriver -- if you're going to take me seriously, I would definitely recommend a more traditional method than taking a bath in starch.

Well, finally tried my IH 666s back on after getting them tapered. OK, so these are pretty sweet now. I am digging them a fair bit, even if they are soft and get zero creases in the honeycomb area. They feel good. Won't be a regular go to jean. But I like 'em enough. EDIT: Looking at the fades of these jeans online, I literally have no idea how people are getting the fades they are getting on these jeans. There's no way mine are gonna honeycomb like that. They are far too soft to get sufficient creasing for dramatic honeycombs like that. Makes no sense to me to look at those fades and have my pair on...they just don't seem like the same fabric. Are they starching their jeans, or....? EDIT 2: Plus, they seem to stretch out and get "floppy" pretty quickly and easily. You don't need starchy crispy goodness to get good fades. Btw, did you guys see the man purse that IH released today?? Wtf??

Can't remember which ones are stiff and which are soft.

Yeah, definitely wasn't trying to say that IH don't make crispy, stiff jeans. Just that this particular model is not. It's just out of my typical realm and is taking some getting used to haha. Perhaps I should have gotten a different model. Ah well...I like em and after I starch them and break them in, perhaps I'll love them!
EDIT: At least with the taper, the fit is now excellent! Love the fit now.

The 25's are kinda stiff @61scout: Jeans are cool, but the room is cooler - looks nice and old. Tell me about it!

Craftsman details but all pine woodwork and flooring. We've been in it for 13 years. It's a work in progress. My mom made the lamp in this pic.

Nice - looks great! We have a 1906, and I can see the similarities. Love the old floors painted like that - we have two rooms with those and most of the rest are original hardwoods in various states of nice to wow, that's 109 years old!
Most of our family love and live in old homes. They are a PITA, but nothing looks like an old place and once you get things sorta under control, they are neat and harder to find.
My dad and his wife had an 1860's farmhouse in WI with a matching red barn and that was amazing. But the weather was too much and they're back in Cali now. We should start a house thread maybe and talk more about this...

Sounds good. I'm out in the garage killing an ant colony in a big pile of barn wood today.

Old26 good way to explain it. " They are a PITA, but nothing looks like an old place and once you get things sorta under control, they are neat and harder to find."

This is why I passed on houses with associations, and won't ever live in one. I'd sooner rent.

No...that's what was weird is that they were cool with the pink flamingo but the minute I set up some garden gnomes and moved my couch to the front yard they got all huffy and puffy and threw a fit!

I love them and only need the brown color to complete the set. Unless IH comes out with another color I'll be done with the 816s. The funny thing is that whenever there's a G or CF chino discussion, I convince myself that for another $50 or so I can just order the 816s. Unfortunately, I'll need another pair of chinos to obsess over.

I love my brown 18oz Ciano chinos.
