666 and 777 21oz drop at Iron Heart today fellas. I'm so tempted to try the 777 cut..... Me too. If you look at the fit guides on this latest batch of 21 ouncers, the 777 cut actually has a bigger thigh than the 666 cut which works out better for me. They look like they will be a good fit on this batch. FYI, they are tweaking the fit of the 777 cut after they sell out this batch of 21 ouncers. Apparently they didn't come out exactly as expected. For the next run of 777's they are lowering the front and rear rise by 1.5-2cm, increasing the thigh by 1cm, and decreasing the cuff by 0.5 cm.

Looking at the specs of the 777s, I think they look almost perfect right now. Not on my radar since I just got the 666s in the same denim but seems a shame they're changing the cut.

ickes, heavy. The heaviest I've worn before this one was the Gustin American 16ers (16.5oz). This one is much thicker and makes the 16ers feel lightweight. I'm not the greatest at describing the hand, but the outside feels rough while the inside has a comfortable smoothness. The weft shows through nicely, which is something I really like. I live in a cold, wet and windy climate (on an island in the North Atlantic... not far from where the Titanic went down). Wearing them today I noticed that I couldn't feel the cold wind through them, which, believe me, is pretty impressive. Most of all, I am impressed with the construction. These feel absolutely bomb-proof. Looking at them it is clear that no corner was cut. Here is a shot I took this morning (teamed with my IHSH-07):

Sanforized. Or "one wash" as Rodeo Bros describe.

James what's your thoughts on the 21 oz denim itself? How is the fabric? The 21oz has a 2-ply weft so it's super soft and fluffy like the 18.5oz LD uses, but it is more dense and is much more silky. The fabric has more of a roll than creases which makes for some cool fades. When new the outside is fairly starchy, but gets very soft. The inside doesn't seem starchy and is soft like kittens. It's also a fairly flexible denim and has a fair amount of stretch in it because the looseness of the cotton yarns. Damn unnamed, I hope it has stretch - I need to make the thighs more comfortable!

Funny I feel there is more to it than just weight of the denim. The super heavy 18oz feel lighter than other jeans. Simply because they are a bit looser, more open weave and low startch. The 23oz felt more stiff than the 26oz (Gustin).
I'm looking forward to seeing the 25oz 666. Funny the thigh for size 36 for the 25oz is 13.5" and 21oz is 12.5".

If the 13.5" thigh comes in a bit loose I might have to give the 21oz a shot too if I think I can fit into 21oz

Their fabric is made by Japanese elves in a hollowed out tree in the middle of a forest at the base of Mt Fuji.

I can't wait. So far 2015 I haven't spent a lot. Focusing on quality over quantity. Still spent more than I wanted to but fudge it!

Either I'm getting used to these 25oz 666's or the fabric is magically becoming softer. Truly amazing. I'm very happy with these.

Have you noticed much stretch yet? do you think they have much give to them? I have not measured, but the waist fit me pretty good out of the package. I have not been wearing a belt with these yet so there might be some stretch from normal movement. It does feel like the thighs have loosened a bit because of the bending, sitting, etc. For a 25oz fabric, they are comfortable. On day 1, I honestly thought, oh man, what the hell have I gotten myself into now. But after a week or so of wear, it's smooth sailing. I would recommend. I'll have to measure at some point to answer the question, but can't do it now.

I have about 10 hrs wear on my 666-XHS. Not sure I can add much to what's already been said. I had to work the buttonholes with a drift punch before I could get them buttoned but once done no problems. They become much more wearable very quickly. I'm not as picky as some with fit and finish but I can't imagine a better made pair of jeans. The stitching stands out as far superior to anything else I've seen. Heavy thread with dead straight lines and perfect spacing.

2" of waist stretch?!?!? Jeesh the 36's might be too big. I'm not sure how 2" is possible while wearing a belt, but you can definitely get an inch out of them, with no problems. That's great for me, because they went from "too high in the front Dad jeans" to perfectly relaxed" sitting perfectly on my hips

Shit - you guys are so convincing that I gotta get a pair. Just not sure which fit to get. In need a 33.5 waist and a 12.5 thigh. The 777's look like the right fit but won't be available on rakuten.
Untucked - do you have the 666's?

It's 1:50am and I'm taking fit pics for you guys, lol. My Japanese GF initially thought that I'm crazy and said NO when I asked her to take the pics..... Then, I explained "It's so my American fashion friends can learn the sense of high quality, Made in Japan clothes. After that, all was okay, lol! brentkuz they aren't embarrassingly high, but definitely higher than a standard slim fit. And Yes, I've did 2 hot soaks initially, and 2 hand washes since then.
