So I've got a small pin stripe shirt fetish lately. And have been eyeing this Iron Heart Shirt for awhile.... I just won the bid on ebay ($210)! Time to put all this WS value to a real comparison (I figure IH will be what Gustin,TS,Lawless will be trying to Achieve. image.rakuten.co.jp/vari/cabinet/astra52/ir-sl-ihsh-92_1.jpgDigDug, I've got the blue version of that IH mini-wabash pinstripe. Initially, it was stiff, unyielding. After a few washes it softens v. nicely...& starts to show EARLY fades. Really comfortable shirt &, like the 10oz chambray, it feels lighter (for its weight) than some of the other similarly weighted shirts. I take XL. Shoulders: 19.5", Chest: 42", Collar: 17-17.5 Funny thing is, when I first went through the size thing w/ Giles, he said (referencing my measurements above),"Ha! You're my twin! (l0l! Giles is 6'3" - me 5'9") I'd recommend MEDIUM." I thought,"hmmm." So, I guess different folks wear 'em differently. I like a LITTLE room/space. Anyhow, the brown shirt looks ace...great score, brah! |

That's about the size I am. Hoping the XL isn't to big. I'm a 41" true chest and most of my shirts are in the 45"-47" range.
Does yours have a light sheen to it? The Sulfer dye can do that. Kind of like it.

DigDug, my main impression re IH fabrics upon first seeing them is that the dye saturation has been maxxed. None of my IH shirts had a sheen. They don't fade as easily as other fabrics, generally. Their fabrics are solid & sturdy - don't be daunted by this; they're designed to fade slowly but beautifully. They soften after a few washes but, similar to heavy denim jeans, the heavy shirts seem to really benefit from a couple of HARD wears (soaked in sweat etc) & perhaps a few instances of several wears before washing. (You know, DigDug - wash inside-out.  From your chest size (& the measurements of your other shirts) you're either XL or L. For me, the shoulder measurement is THE most critical one for shirts, jackets etc. DigDug, what's your shoulder meas.? Your chest is good for XL. My collar is 17" but I prefer 17.5" on workshirts. IH XL collar is around 17". I reckon if you're shoulder meas. is 18.5+ you're good w/ XL. DigDug, props. 12 months ago the G community crew would sometimes ogle the IH shirts...there was a general ambivalence; they were GREAT shirts BUT they were overpriced & maybe also had a perceived "uptown groover" vibe that was a bit ripe. dunno. lol...but more of us are tryin' 'em on now. Think it's brill to mix it up a bit...& give recognition to the mind-blowing enterprise that is IH...enough prattling on...hope you post some pics, really dig to see 'em - GREAT choice for your first IH, too (trust me, you'll get 1 or 2 more in time, lol!) |

Well got my first Iron Heart Shirt in and I am blown away. Construction, hand feel, fabric is all amazing. Fit turned out to be perfect for me as well.
IHSH-102 buffalo super heavy flannel in purple.
Size large or 40.
Sleeves are slightly long but thing fits great. This is a true work of art. I started caring about clothing in 2012 and I never thought I would buy a $325 shirt in my life. Then December 2013 found Gustin and they were a gate way to iron heart. Now I'm looking for my second shirt.
My girlfriend thinks I am crazy and I am pretty sure she wishes I was addicted to herion instead of clothing.

Are these prices for real? And real IH? Very tempting indeed. Any IH outside of Japan is sold by Giles. He distributes to every customer as well as to any store that carries IH outside of Japan. Naturally there are an enormous amount of shipping costs and tax so thats where some of the markup comes and the differnce between buying from Rakutan or Japan sites |

Got my first Iron Heart shirt! . Definitely a substantial shirt. Well made (haven't had the time/chance to really look close yet) First impression- nice looking fabric, not going to fall apart any time soon (or ever!), I paid $210 on ebay (looks like it's never been worn, came with tags and not wrinkled/creased) Would I pay the $295 from IH, knowing what I have now? Probably not but I'm glad I bought this one!! Arm holes are very high and fitted (hope it doesn't shrink at all) But a good cut. Will I buy another $200+ shirt, problably not. But I have one! And one is enough for me. Would I recommend an IH shirt? Yes! At least one, and a few TS, hopefully a few Gustins (haven't gotten one yet), and a few LD's! That's enough for me. Time to beat these shirts at work and play!  |

It is the sexual chocolate. I'm in fluorescent lighting. Hard pattern to focus on (eyes and camera I've been watching/wanting this one as aposed to a Flannel as I think I'll get more use out of it (fall/winter/spring) |
