General IH Discussion

I've gotta say, my brown 714's. Hands down, the most impressive piece of IH that I own. There's no reason why there isn't a jacket made of that stuff!

Crazy plaids are up for sale in Japan.... IHJP has them listed, ¥21,000. Rodeo Bros. should have them up soon

very nice. damn I'm going to have to only pick up one of these, the blue or black, as it's crunch time and there are several things coming in real soon that I want to get (selvedge chinos, overdyed 14oz denim) but I can't afford them all. decisions.

think I'll probably just get the blue. 

the bluexcream buffalo checks are en route to IHUK as well. Don't think I'm really interested in those though.

yeah are those the wool ones?  Arent they dropping some wool CPO/solid flannel things??  or am I confused??? 

I believe the CPOs are heavy flannel, and the wool will be in the work shirt rendition.  

Wool military shirts... It's a new shirt design for IH.

So I'm going to ask a few questions with a full understanding that you will tell me to buy a crazy plaid regardless:
1) I can't wear this thing to work, so it would be limited to weekend only wear.  Still worth it?  Keep in mind, I'm not the clothes horse you guys seem to be.
2) It seems like it will be hotter than hell, at least for indoor wear.  Good for fall/spring in Minnesota?  What would you say is a reasonable temp range with this type of fabric?
3) I've never purchased from Japan.  The sellers are Rebirth and Rodeo Bros, correct?  Are they roughly equivalent?  Is there an advantage to using one vs. the other?  
4) Since I can't read Japanese, can I expect the sizing to be close to other shirts listed on IHUK?  Will Rodeo bros. list sizing in English, cuz I don't see it on the rebirth site on the link listed above.

1)  IMO, yes, but that's just my opinion.  One thing I've said about IH shirts is that they have a timeless look.  These crazy plaids are a re-release and they look just as cool today as they did when they were first released which I believe was four-five years ago?  

2)  That will depend on the individual.  I am a Phoenix native so I am a wuss when it comes to cold weather.  I usually wear them when the temperature hits the 50's and below (sometimes low 60's), so for Phoenix that's about high 50's to high 20's.  They can be pretty warm for inside, yes, but that obviously depends on what you keep the Tstat at.  I can wear mine comfortably inside during the winter months.   

3)  I'm not sure that these are going to be available on any Rakuten stores other than Rebirth.  Rebirth is basically IHJP and if you want to purchase from them you will have to use a proxy service which can be a bit of a headache.  I've done it before and quite honestly it's not worth the effort, I would rather spend the extra money and just buy it from IHUK for several reasons which I can explain if you care to know.  There are several different vendors that sell IH on Rakuten (Vari, RodeBros, Joenet, Hinoya, etc..) that will ship directly to the states but like I said, I'm not sure that they will be getting these crazy plaids.  

I've purchased from several of these stores before and they are all really good but I would choose Rodeo Bros over all of them if I had the choice because they seem to be the fastest and their customer service is fantastic.  


4)  You can expect these to be close to other recent UHF's listed on IHUK.  Everything so far this year seems to be pretty consistent.  I have purchased two UHF's from this years releases and both were XL's.
