My latest trainer pickup... the infatuation with NB 997s continues...  Also went down to Bristol to the Sneakerbox 4 event and saw these Asics, they look even better in real life than the images suggest...  |

While I think those you linked are indeed an eyesore, the weatherproofed options from Converse exist. Rubberized Chuck Taylor High is exactly like a new silhouette of a traditional rubber rain boot - gusseted tongue means water really won't get in. I own them, and speak from experience. Nigel Cabourn x Converse CT70 in ventile with red accent strikes my fancy the most, but was a pretty limited release that's quite hard to track down (in my size). Red accent pairs great with selvedge ID's IMO, though I no longer actually wear denim ^_^ Hancock VA x Converse has produced waterproofed Jack Purcell options time and time again, including mids, colorful lows, and mids again - a rare release in which I really love all 3 colorways offered. One might also consider the DSM x NikeLab Dunk Lux in Ventile (white or black), but the only weather-proofing is the material itself - tongue is not gusseted. |

More to see if I was fast enough to get them than anything else, but managed to pick up a pair of these this morning. Sold out within seconds and currently selling at 3x the retail price. Don't really like Jordans but not sure whether to keep these for the rarity value or flip them for the ca$h  |

I always bought to wear or bought to flip. Never understood buying & keeping something you didn't wish to wear, just because it's rare or sold out quickly - but I do have many friends who have that mentality about collecting (shoes, records, art prints).
