To bad we couldn't get the word out a little more before the community forum died. Man I miss the old days of the G forum. It was truly a gateway.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to raw denim as well. I came across Gustin when I was searching for Made in USA products and got really interested in their business model. I only have a pair of Heavy Americans right now but will be looking to back some chinos going forward. I came to the forum thru a search looking for fit pics and lurked for a little while before joining. Thanks for all the good advise I've gotten so far. The pics of different offerings really help me too because I have a hard time figuring out what things are going to look like from a swatch.

Welcome metals37! Glad to hear you have found the world of selvedge denim. You will never go back to "normal" denim again and your addiction...I mean hobby is only beginning.

Recently found this forum and glad I did. Been buying and wearing a lot of classic American workwear lately--including Gustin denim. Thanks for creating a community to discuss all things selvedge.

Thanks ickes, and I already know what you mean. I love the HAs but I can already tell I'm going to want something lighter for a few months from now.

Thanks ickes, and I already know what you mean. I love the HAs but I can already tell I'm going to want something lighter for a few months from now. and then you'll want something Japanese....and then you'll want something Italian....and then you'll want something black.....and then you'll want something grey...and then maybe something brown...and then you'll want to try some indigos with different colored wefts....and then you'll want something heavy.....and then you'll want something even heavier.....and then you'll want something unsanforized....and then you'll want something loomstate....and then you'll want something expensive like Iron Heart or PBJ or Oni or Momotaro...and then you'll realize how awesome those are and then you'll want more of those....
It's only just beginning but it's a fun ride

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. But I've been perusing the forum for about a month. I'm working on finding a good fitting pair of raw denim (outside of 501 stf). The journey has been fun, educational, and frustrating at times, but I'm moving along. Thanks for creating this forum. It has been helpful. Just wish I found it sooner.

Welcome natpark. 501 stf's were my gateway drug to this whole raw denim addiction as well. Glad to have you here.

Hello everyone. For several years I've been interested mainly in getting together a nice stable of mostly USA-made leather boots (Wolverine 1000 Mile, Alden Indy, Allen Edmonds Long Branch, Woolrich Yankee Buck, and more), but now I'm gaining an interest in selvedge denim. I don't know a whole lot about it and have lots to learn, but I look forward to the journey.

Hello! I'm Jesse (Deusis). I'm pretty active over on reddit but decided to start posting here as well. I'm interested in all things related to denim (currently own several pairs of 3sixteen, Rogue Territory, Taylor Stitch, Todd Shelton, and Matias Denim), footwear (currently own a few pairs of Aldens, Rider Boot Company, Wolverines, Allen Edmonds, Rancourt) and leather goods (I run my own side business making hand stitched leather wallets). It is had denim or leather in it, consider me interested.

Hello. Been lurking for a bit now. I didn't bother registering because every pair of jeans I've purchased were going to be the last. You know the rest of the story. As far as Gustin goes I've got a pair of the Japan Union Blues, which are fantastic, and just got in my J17s.
I'm worried the J17s are going to stay too tight to be comfortable, which sucks because it was a great price heavy denim. I got them in 35 slim, but am thinking I should have gotten a 36 straight, because I do like my jeans on the looser side. If anyone would like to trade I'd be more than happy to go for it. I emailed Gustin to see if they have anything, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
cheers!
