Hey @scooter and mkeview, how about the fact that you guys were just outplayed by a better football team? The Cardinals are a force this year and they have been overshadowed by the Panthers I think for most of the season, but now I don't think anyone can say we aren't a contender. The analysts are even giving us our due props this year. Yeah you can say this and that, the offensive line this, Rodgers that,....but at the end of the day it was just a solid win for the Cards.

and I'm not talking smack guys, but it's just always the case that when the Cards win the focus is immediately put on how the loosing team was missing this guy, and that guy, and this guy wasn't playing well, etc....well yeah, that and the fact the Cardinals are just a damn good team this year. ok, rant over

No doubt, ickes . The Cards are for real ! I was only addressing the fact you were surprised the Pack didn't make more of a game of it. It would've been a monumental effort to win, even if they were healthy.

Yeah I hear what you're saying....and again, I'm not trying to come across a dick or anything it just gets really old. Even just now after the game, Howie Long was asked if the Cardinals are the best team in Football right now (which as of today at this moment I think they are) and he immediately puts his emphasis on Carolina and other teams and I don't think he ever answered the question. Maybe I'm being too sensitive about it....lol....I don't know. ....but it's always been the case for the most part but it is finally starting to change which is cool.

I think Palmer might have solidified the MVP with tonight over Newton.

I think Palmer might have solidified the MVP with tonight over Newton. I hope you're right but I don't think it will be the case unfortunately. I don't believe he will get nod. But, I think the reasons will go far beyond the play of Newton..... The MVP is typically given to the player who stands out, above all others. I think the big thing going against Palmer is not Newton, but Brady, and what he has done this season. Through today's games, Brady leads Palmer in completions, yards, and TD passes, with 3 fewer interceptions. Brady's receiving corps has been a bit of a mess, as well. Which only adds to his accomplishments. Newton has fewer completions, and passing yards than both. But, he equals Palmer in touchdown passes, and is 2 behind Brady. What sets him apart, though, is the rushing yards and touchdowns. He's the only player with over 40 combined touchdowns, thus far. That dual threat stands out. I'm not trying to diminish what Palmer and Brady have done this season. They have both played outstanding. But, their numbers have been exceeded, a number of times in the past, and neither of them have really stood out from one another, either.

Thanks, Matt. Honestly, I believe the MVP was locked up, by Cam, last week. He was having an awesome season to begin with, and then has one of the greatest individual games ever..... The only NFL player to run for 100, pass for 300, and throw 5 TD passes, in one game, EVER ! Un-fecking-believable

Overall stats only tells a part of the story though. Cam's been less consistent overall, he had big games, but he had several bad games. And they played 6 against the nfc south, 4 against the afc south, and 4 against the nfc east. 3 of the worst divisions in football. Quality wins were against Seattle, Green Bay, maybe Houston, maybe Washington. He's also relied on his defense just as much as anyone else. Those are my arguments against Cam. Not trying to take away anything from his crazy season.
Just saying. Cam was a no-brainer lock for MVP until he lost to the Falcons. Now I think it's a lot closer after Palmer helped smash the Packers, while Cam lost to the Falcons in an uninspired fashion.

Cards > Panthers > Seahawks = Patriots if they get Edelman back for the playoffs (IMO) > Dirt > Lice > Redskins (sorry, I hate the Redskins if I haven't mentioned it before).

Denver hasn't been able to play good football for more than two consecutive quarters of a game in years, so it's not overly surprising. At least we can be embarrassed on National television again tomorrow.

I'm not partial to any particular colleges (I'm a fan of football, so if it's on I'll watch), and I will say I just watched one-heck of a comeback - Alamo Bowl. Oregon up 31-0, only to have TCU come back to tie it and send it to OT. TCU wins 47-41 in triple OT. Damn.

Well, I almost had another comeback with Penn State today - did it last year but came up short today. Most of the Bowls have sucked, but the OR/TCU game and PSU games were fun...

Penn State decided to make the game interesting once I decided to give up watching them and go for a bike ride. Awful game up until that point. Got in the truck and put on ESPN radio...and the rally began. Penn State is heading back in the right direction, but I'm not 100% sold on Franklin as the guy to do it. Heck of a recruiter and TV personality, but he hasn't coached a comeback with this school.

Tough - last thing kids need is another new coach, but that's above my pay grade to fix. Just hope they do. I still have memories from '82 and '86 Championships and all the fun in State College on those two weekends.

Good lord we are getting spanked by Seattle right now. I know this isn't exactly our most important game of the season but damn, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for us in the post season.
