I can't believe you guys spend $1000's on clothes and get your hair cut at Great Clips, haha. I've had the same girl cutting mine for a dozen or so years...it's $35 + tip, but I know what I'm getting every time. It's hair and it'll grow back, so where I get my haircut isn't important. I've gone the expensive salon route and it'll be a cold day in hell before I go back to one. I simply haven't found the right person that can cut my hair perfectly every single time, so I settle for what's avaialable to me. There's no shame in going to Great Clips. You have a forgiving work place then. A botched haircut would be a weeks worth of jokes for me. Hell when I switched hair styles it was earth changing

I have a great barber. It's $25 for a cut, but that includes a beer/shot. Dude does a great job, clean lines, and I would definitely consider him a "stylist". I'm in Portland, and I have exactly the same deal. $25 for a cut and a beer. I realized Portland stepped up its game when the optometrist offered me a beer.

Where you go? I see Jacob @ Rooks. Dudes awesome.

As soon as you mentioned the beer, I thought you might be in Portland. I don't think I've gone anywhere where I haven't been offered a drink.

Been doing it myself for about 15 years. #2 attachment all around, use an articulated barbers mirror when I clean up the back neckline. Trim up the beard with a wahl and done. I actually like a #1 attachment on my head better but it looks a little sketchy to some people (ie my GF says I look like a convict) so I don't do the shorter cut often. I can't remember the last time I owned a comb. It's a beautiful thing.
Funny thing, I had long hair for years. Down to my ass long. Shaved my head one day and never looked back.
When I go to New Orleans I get a cut and hot towels on the beard at Aidan Gill. It's the easiest haircut the girls do all day, Guinness on tap and whiskey for the asking. Girls are cute and laugh at my shitty attempts at flirting. Good times. Only paid for three haircuts in 15 years....all of them there.
I can't imagine worrying about a hairstyle, not even sure what I'd go with. Too much thinking.

Didn't have my hair cut from the age of 14 until I was 28... and then one day I was walking home from work in the rain and my hair was wet and sticking all over my face and I just though, 'Had enough of this'. Went straight to a hair dressers and asked them to give me a Number One cut all over. Two of the girls refused to do it as they said I'd regret it, then one guy came over and just snipped off the pony tail and kind of said, 'Well, too late now' and that was that. I've never regretted it for a single moment.

I've never regretted it for a single moment. My span of long hair was almost the same, 15 until 28. Funny how it went from cool, to uncool , back to cool....repeat, during that time. My "chopping off the locks" story is similar to yours, I was in Arizona and it was just another 115 F summer day when I cracked. To much hair, too hot. Add in a motorcycle helmet. The idea gives me the chills today. I asked my friend for his barbers name and address. Walked in and requested a shaved head. Female barber working there said no way to the job and said I'd regret it immediately, my friends barber walked over with a giant scissor and did the deed, threw the pile of hair in my lap and said "I'll get the clippers". Walking out of there that day was amazing but I had to buy a new helmet as the old one was now too large by a couple sizes. brentkuz - shave your head. It's awesome. Not having to mess around with your hair frees up a lot of time for obsessing over jeans, shoes and watches

I shaved my head for years in my younger days (15-22 years old) and now I've got hair. Not long hair by any means but I haven't shaved it since I grew it back out a bit when I was 22.
