I'm thinking about trying one of these no nonsence cut and sewn in US, from European flannel at very decent prices.

I just checked them out.
seems like a great value relative to the 109 + 2 months, tax and shipping gustin wants for their latest flannel.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, and they offer a lot more variations in color. I e-mailed them asking if I could get a fitted shirt, with two pockets like their regular fit, as I just think two pockets work better in this type of shirt.

Do you know the weight of their shirts?

Do you know the weight of their shirts? I inquired with them about a year ago, and I believe the gal told me 6oz. , and they had a patchwork one that was heavier at something like 8 oz. They only had the regular fit, at that time, and less color options. I see now where they have added more colors, expanded their offerings, and fits. If I can get a fitted one, with 2 pockets, I think I'll try one. Waiting to hear back from them on my request.

Let us know about the fitted double pocket, I'd get two or three if they make that available.

I would have ordered a shirt but the shipping to Canada was $40 on a $48 shirt!

I'm debating between vermontflannel and woolrich 7oz.
they have a deal right now, a 30 dollar gc with purchases over 100, free shipping and another 20 off with code: 20bucks
the cost comes out to 43.65 per shirt from woolrich

I got a reply from Vermont about getting a fitted flannel in a two pocket version, and they responded that the fitted comes with one. I let them know that it might be beneficial to change this. It is a deal breaker for me, as this style of shirt needs two, and the regular shirt would be too long for me at 34".

Interesting size chart on the classic button-down, for sure. I don't think I've ever found myself debating whether I'm a Small or a Medium!

Vermont Flannel looks nice. From what I've read, the finest European flannel(specifically the flannel from Northern Portugal) is made from a special variety of cotton with nice long hairy resilient fibers. Supposedly, the characteristics of the cotton resists pilling and enhances softness. Some flannels become uncomfortable after just the first wash, however this kind of flannel is supposed to retain its softness and hairy finish very well over time. There is a good chance it will even get more comfortable with wear. At the $52 price point, I'm seriously considering getting one of their shirts just for the fun of it. It's so cool that they are made in Barre, Vermont. Barre is such a great little town. Love these colors:

Yeah, I didn't see any difference in measurements between classic and fitted and no neck, shoulder, sleeve or pit-to-pit measurement, so I asked if they could provide them for the medium and large in each fit.

...and that tag is horrible.
I'll be cutting that off but they should exclude that.

Just found out that they use Tevis mills Portuguese flannel: www.teviz.pt/enThat's supposed to be some of the best stuff available. This means buttery soft flannel people!

I had suggested to them quite a while ago, that the more discerning consumer would like to know shirt measurements above and beyond what they have on their site. I see that hasn't changed any, but it would probably take for them to get many more requests before the light comes on for them. Same as my request that they offer a 2 pocket version for their fitted shirt.

I just got off the phone with them.
For their slim fit: Shoulder Sleeve XL 21 27 XXL 23 27.5
That puts me right in the middle. I could probably do an XL but the waist is 40 - 42 and in my Gustin sizing the waist is 47.5

I e-mailed earlier today but haven't heard back yet.
