if you pay attention to all the Gustin offers, they normally take a classic design and then simplify it, so they doesn't need a lot of manufacturing steps. Really? Most of the complaints have revolved around them not sticking to the classics, or over working things (city coat & cpo for example). Which items are you referring to that are simplified from a classic design? If your want to use CPO and City Coat as the example, just compare Gustin to the original EG one. |

The gustin cpo was a near (if not) exact replica of the EG model. Even if they did make any changes I wouldn't call that starting point a "classic design" |

Good point. Maybe my comment earlier should be more geared toward Gustin accessories.

The first round of it finished in about 36 hours. I think that if they made a messenger bag or something more on the manly side, it would sell like crazy - the leather looks great. And, since they don't post up numbers, they coulda sold 10 of 'em for all we know. We've all speculated about that before, so we have no idea what the #'s are on those campaigns...which of course is probably by design. There was a Filson brief style bag they were teasing back in March or whenever, even a couple samples they had photos of, but it hasn't shown up yet. Not sure if they abandoned that or not -- there are a ton of companies in that segment in their geographic area, may have decided against for those reasons. It's definitely out of their current comfort area, so it might just be some more time. |
