Dr. Rubins - Great old school Pomade Layrite Do not like Suavecito. Don't like the scent and the hold is not as good as the previous two so there's no reason for me to buy it. Can we meet at a Starbucks so I can try your products?

Pomade review.
Brand: Pomps not dead From: Texas, USA. Product: pompage Base: oil Price: $14 shipped
The run down: Pomps not dead is a small home brewer from Texas. Small batches and not really sold a lot of places. I bought it from pomades.com through their eBay account due to earning my eBay bucks! 5x bucks so extra 1.20$ per tin.
Sight: Murky brown white ish
Smell: Coffee and caramel sweet but not over bearing.
Hold: They state a medium hold. I would find pretty much on point with a medium. Oil based keeps it soft and pliable through the day.
Shine: Medium shine where I like it. Far from matte finish but not a real slick back greaser look.
Application/styling: Not the best. Oil based always gives me issues. It's tacky as heck at first working it into your hair. I find it didn't give a ton of control and I really had to go over my hair to control stray hairs and keeping things put.
Over all I like it. Scent is killer. Not a really greasy product. Medium more natural look and hold. Doesn't look artificially shiny.

went to Target and bought some cheap Old Spice pomade for $7. Does what it's supposed to do and since I rarely put pomade in my hair I couldn't justify spending 2.5x the amount. I only bought it because after my most recent haircut the stylist didn't trim as much off the top as I would've liked and those damn curls get crazy. Had to tame them with some shellac

I really like O'douds bar soaps, specifically the Bay Rum scent. I highly recommend. Their pomade does not work my hair very well at all though. Overall Layrite is still probably the best brand I have found for pomades.

I've switched from Layrite to Reuzel. I like it way better.
