I can totally envision Mr. Jhorts intentionally jacking up a pair of Gustins..... Anyone remember the Instagram beef? Yeah, I didn't want to take it there, though, it implies an immaturity I'm not comfortable ascribing to such a large player in the industry.

my one stop to SE showed that I knew more than the salesperson.
Also Kiya was quite sure the Lofgren boots would fit me, buy them, he said.
Did they fit? Naw not comfortable. YMMV

I'm curious how the SE Mexico shop is working out. It's clearly not aimed at locals who make nothing.

That's no good...let us know how they respond (assuming you contact them) Fun fact: when I inspected my jeans more closely, they even used the wrong thread color! So 1) legs were half an inch different lengths, 2) neither length was even close to correct, 3) stitching was falling apart, and 4) they used yellow thread instead of copper. I brought them back to SE yesterday and they were very apologetic and said they had a "new guy" who messed it up. So they're fixing them right now... let's hope they turn out ok!

We give all the Gustin jeans to whatever homeless guy happens to be out front. He's a little bit slower and really doesn't pay attention to what he's doing, but those slobs that buy Gustin don't seem to care, so we continue to do it.

I can't fathom that they would have the "new guy" hemming a pair of IH jeans they sold from the store.

The new guy said he used to sew shirts for Gustin, so we thought he would know how to handle the product.

That's probably what the production factories that Gustin uses does as well.

That's no good...let us know how they respond (assuming you contact them) OK, got my jeans back. They're (roughly) the right length, but the tread color is off again. They even made a "special note" to get the thread color right. As they're basically the right length now, I guess that means I have jeans with some weird stitching to wear...

Told Kiya about the thread issue, he said sorry they don't always have the right color thread, and that was that. No discount or credit. Not going back.

Thread color seems reasonably close. I had someone use tonal on a pair once. Now I just cuff. Saves the frustration and allows for adjustment between flip flops and work boots.
Not staying you didn't get run through the ringer by them, definitely worth avoiding them.

SE is a joke isn't it. I bought a shirt online from them (first time buying anything from them) a couple days ago and later that day I get an email from Kiya that they made a mistake with their stock and didn't actually have it. He also offered as a condolence to let me have *any* shirt they had in stock regardless of price, for the price I paid for the original shirt. I sent a reply to clarify that is what he really meant, then went and looked at all their shirts and found a couple I liked that were more expensive than the original shirt. Then I get a reply that yes, that really is what he meant, but to nevermind, that he just went ahead and refunded me. F#cker!! This pissed me off, but turns out he did me a favor because I looked these shirts that I may have hastily jumped on up online and saw that they were available elsewhere for much less than SE was asking and much less than what I paid them for the original shirt. I'll never consider buying anything from them again.
As a side note, have you guys seen the prices they are asking for little things like keychains and wallets?? They must have a good sense of humor

They seem to be the local record store of online fashion workwear sales. If that reference doesn't stick, think High Fidelity, if you're still not there, comic book guy from the Simpsons. On the other hand people report fantastic experiences when buying jeans from them in store, and I don't think Kiya has ever pulled punches on his opinions of brands self edge doesn't sell.

I been to the store a couple of times in SF when I first got interested in getting some cool fades and nicer denims. They didn't approach or welcome me at all so I just walked around their small store with my lady and left. A simple hello and did you need any help in a pleasant manner would have been cool, but nope customer service fail.

I been to the store a couple of times in SF when I first got interested in getting some cool fades and nicer denims. They didn't approach or welcome me at all so I just walked around their small store with my lady and left. A simple hello and did you need any help in a pleasant manner would have been cool, but nope customer service fail. That doesn't surprise me for some reason. I have a pair of 633IIs from them - and when I ordered they quickly got me tracking all was well. So, two days later, day before the shipment was scheduled to be delivered a packages arrives, its the 633IIs same size and everything. So, went back to the tracking and what they emailed me for tracking was wrong - so I sent them an email giving them the heads up, could have a confused costumer coming or something. So, next day another SE package arrives, and its another pair of 633IIs. So being fair, I emailed SE explaining it, and their response wasn't even a "thanks for letting us know" it was just "ship the extra back", which for whatever reason rubbed me the wrong way. Not saying i expected credit, or anything, but found it all weird they never said "oops our bad" or "thank for letting us know" could have sold and moved on. I also had to confirm I was shipping back on their dime, and had to bug em to pay me. Was weird all around. Kinda take their service with a grain of salt - oh and when I did get these I tried the "can you tell me what the thighs are on the 3 pairs you have in stock" and sure enough was just what they had on the sight "all pairs". Only used SE for some Iron Heart, and honestly if looking at that brand - without a doubt I'd go to IHUK. Just seems to be a bit more happy to help. But damn that 633
