I assume this works on the pre orders: Today Jan 20 - Wed 25 Code: SALEONSALE15 email: ORDERS@LEFTFIELDNYC.COM I believe it's only for the items that are already on sale. Yeah, I put that together right after posting.

I waited too long and the 14.5 oz twisted weft Charles Atlas sold out in my sizes. Bummer. Trying to decide if I want the 16.5 instead.

I've been waiting for a restock of the Field Pant, in Olive, or Khaki. But, with the saleonsale, I decided to get my first taste of LF. For $85, I grabbed a pair of black duck Miner's. I just gave them a fit check, and they are outstanding. Beautifully put together, too. These guys make a great pant.

Did we decide their work shirts are not at the level of quality their pants are? They have 3 new work shirts up for pre order.

Not a huge fan of elbow reinforcements.

I agree with the comments about the elbow reinforcements, and short length. Add the fact that they run small in the chest measurement for my liking, and its a no go. They look decent enough, and the fabric is cool, but for $210, I can buy a UHF with the same weight, and perfect fit.

They also have it in a grey. Now that one I like a lot.

Got a pair of Greaser's in the 14.5oz Xinjaing denim today. Very well put together, with nice little details like fancy pocket bags, and hidden rivets. This very long staple cotton is soft from the get go, and is a bit different with the twisted weft. What I like best is that the greaser fit has some room in the thighs, and a bit of extra rise which offers a lot more comfort, especially when on the motorcycle.

The new work shirts look really cool. Great looking fabrics. Work shirts look so cool, but I already have too many. Alas.... the more I read about LF the more I like them. The guys started it in 1998!! MiUSA wasn't on my radar for another ten years. Good for him. I also like how he is trying everything he can to make his products more affordable, or at least provide some less expensive options.

I have a pair of CF canvas chinos. I like them OK, but the fit is a little weird. Waist is about 1" too big and the knee is too tight. I finally decided to give the LF NYC caramel duck canvas chinos a try as a replacement. Got 10% off, so it came to $138 with free shipping. Pretty good deal I think. I'll post my thoughts when they arrive. I think the fit should be good though. I have a pair of their denim in the Chelsea cut and they are great.

Bad experience with my canvas chinos. I received them and they fit well, but there was a twist in the left leg such that the outer seam was turned maybe two inches clockwise. Super annoying. Again, these are canvas, not denim, so there really shouldn’t be any twisting, plus the right leg doesn’t have any twist. I returned them with a note saying there was a twist to the left leg and that I liked the pants, but wanted a pair without the twist. I received the replacement pair yesterday and either I got the exact same pair back, or every pair of size 36 caramel canvas chinos has a twist to the left leg. I’ll be sending these back for a refund. I’m bummed because the fit is really good, but this seems like an obvious manufacturing defect. Also, I tend to be someone who, once I notice a defect can’t really “unsee” it.
Is this twisting other people have noticed with non-denim pants generally or canvas chinos specifically? Ironically, my first pair of CF canvas chinos had a twisted leg too. I had Ciano make me another pair and there is no twist now, but I was looking to replace them for other fit issues (see post above). I don’t have twist in any other pair of pants I own across lots of different brands.
I guess i’ll Just embrace the slightly quirky fit of my CF chinos. God knows I waited long enough to get them.

I've been swimming a biking a lot since this spring and have dropped weight. Not sure how much, since I don't have a scale, but enough that I've noticed it in quite a few pairs of pants. My CF canvas chinos and LF heavy slub are probably the two pairs of pants that have the largest waist. I did a warm soak and hang dry on the LF's yesterday. They are still drying, but hopefully I can get a inch or two shrink in the waist. The denim was also still super crunchy, so this should soften it up a bit. I washed my CF chinos in cool water and hang dried. That probably won't give me a lot of shrink, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. I might end up taking these to the tailor. We'll see.
