Griffin I ended up using Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, and this jacket drank that stuff up FAST! Not too much color change, but a very noticeable change in the health of the leather.

Aero pre-war Irvin in minus 13c, last week after playing with kids in snow: Hat knittet by GF, Gustin IxI, some modern shoes and mittens. I was a little hangover and you can see that on my face.

Irvin looks great and also nice and warm. Would like one at some point. When we get into our Minnesota subzero temps I have to put the leather away for warmer options. I believe the Irvin would take on the frigid temps. We had -8F last week but has warmed up now. Cooling off soon though. Sunday supposed to be a high of -2F -13F low.

Yeah thats -8F where im standing. We use to get -13F but not yet this year. Now today all the snow is gone....wierd.
If you have those temps I would not hesitate getting an Irvin. Its very cosy, but be sure to not get a too short one (they are very short as standard since they are made for sitting in a plane) I requested some extra length to mine to be able to wear a sweater without it sticking out.

I've got an Aero Stockman that is about 5 years old. It fits a little big on me now, but it still fits very well over a warm wool sweater. So it works well as a winter coat, but maybe not the most stylish this I own. I'm rather smitten with the new Aero August. I'm not sure if I'm the market for another, though.

I mainly use mine for winter too. Nothing wrong with that!

That's a far more detailed answer than i ever expected! And, it just so happens that I'll be in Shibuya in about 11hrs!!! Ken's the founder of Aero, and the man. His history in the jacket world is pretty much the top of the top. Good to know what you got, and that's cool that you're going to be there too! I just picked up another Lost Worlds jacket, and will get up some pics this weekend. Jackets are lots of fun, but it's been ~90ºf here and not much time to wear one lately...

You're in the 90's already? I'm on a subtropical island, and the best I'm getting is high of low 70's.....

I wish... I wish I had never started looking at the Aero website. That will be a very expensive buy.

I wish... I wish I had never started looking at the Aero website. That will be a very expensive buy. Jackets are like watches and other expensive items. Once you get started, it's pretty tough to quit. But if you don't have one bespoke jacket, you owe yourself at least one to enjoy. *** Do your research. As any of the jacket guys will tell you, it's a very difficult thing to acquire your "grail" jacket - esp in one shot. One of the best places is thefedoralounge.com. Many of us here are members there as well.

OK, here's an interesting one - Aero is making a leather Western Shirt (sorta like the old leather moto racing shirts) I must admit, I'm intrigued...

It reminds me of a Levis shirt. Did Aero make one like this under/for the Levis leathers brand before?

Crazy that I'm sure this will come out cheaper than the $887 Indigofera nubuck shirt.....
