Here's a picture that definitely captures their character a little more.

But is it cotton? Or plast?

But is it cotton? Or plast? It's a poly-blend, clearly, but it's no more plastic than your typical poly-blend, and the look is very much a product of the way the material was manufactured, so I'm not going to hold it against it. Hand feel is definitely more like a coarse denim, kind of on par with the 13.75oz Heavy.

With that, I've come to the realization that I haven't been a big fan of any cone denim. Can't wait for the Am16ers to turn that around.

So here are the fit of the shirts, an oxford and a flannel (Gustin made), size M I think they basically look good. They suffer from being too long in the arms and too long in the length, same as for me, but its pull-offable. I also have the white OCBD and its beefy. I like the fabric alot. I also very much like the gustin roll you get in the collar and try to mold it with a finger after wash and hang dry, and it works.

Not the greatest picture. Black Plaid in Medium with my N&F Navy Canvas + 1000Mile 721LTD Shell. Much better than my work shirt but still not a great fit.

I'm looking forward to them, either way, cause if I don't like them it's gonna be a shitty contest (for me).

edol, did you have your shirts "skinnyed" at the bottom? The shoulders look oddly wide and it gets progressively narrow toward the bottom. Mine looks like an A-line skirt. The more of these G shirts I see, the less I like the build of them.

I look forward to Lawless' in the same denim to compare cuts, etc. I don't enjoy the Beasts as much as these - I think 18-20oz is my sweet spot. Plus I love the more open weave that shows the weft more than a tight weave. I want a jacket in this stuff BADLY!

My favorites have actually been Italian so far, but I typically dress jeans up rather than casually, and Italian denim is great for that. They're also a little less concerned with tradition, so seem to be more adventurous (herringbone denim, more colored warps). The more recent stuff I've gotten has been Japan, though, and I'm looking forward to how they work out. The Shine and Olive have me particularly excited, I think the Shine is really gonna be something special in a year or so, hoping I'm not wrong.

I also think that they are a little to long. Sometimes I think I should have some, like the flannels and oxfords, hemmed, so when I wear them untucked they would look better. (I do not walk all day with my back straight... )
Wills
Yes, they are a bit long…I could have them hemmed but If I straighten my back, all day long , they hit more or less the sweet spot, ~1/2 inch above the crotch. So for now, as I wear them mostly under my sweaters I will just keep them this way.
stinky/old26
No, they are as they have come, i have more or less 10 shirts from gustin, and some fit a little better then others, at seams that way for me! Some I can wear tucked, without having fabric coming out the back of my pants, others I cannot, because of that extra fabric poping out in the back and sides. I have considered having them tailored, but for now, until they have a few more washes in them, I will wait. Overall i'm happy with the fit in them! The only thing that does not work is the collar, i cannot button the collar without suffocating I think that it is very difficult to find a proper fitting shirt, i tried uniqlo, givons, norse projects, gitman vintage, etc... all of these have their advantages and disadvantages. Norse probably fits me the better, but is a little tight around the chest. Gitman vintage great all around, a little to long. Uniqlo way off chest and lenght (M regular). Givon a little snug on the chest. I don't know, maybe my body is always in a constant shape shifting and i will never find a truly well fitting shirt!!!!

I think its the angle of the picture taking high up into the mirror. This makes it look more tapered then it is.
I also find it funny that we are now atleast 3 that the shirts are too long for. People were mocking me asking for shorter shirts at the G board and G said on the Instagram that "they have never heard of anyone wanting shorter shirts" so what the f, why am I not just buying all shirts from LD where I can specify length. Thats my question. And the answer is - yes.

it's the scoops, the scoops i tell ya. can't go shorter because of those so it's the front/back.
shorten the front & back "tails" and it'll all be good.
say no to dick bibs.

They manage to be both too short to tuck in and too long to untuck. I wear my gustin shirts untucked, but I can't tuck it in cause I'd have the scoops coming untucked all the time. I'm pretty certain that Gustin is never going to change this.

Griffin i don't think you'll be able to specify length any longer with LD moving forward unless shirt length is similar to inseam length, which i doubt due to button placement and bottom shape. the only way custom measurements will be accepted moving forward is if you go into the shop to be measured. re: the G shirt length, to me it's the dramatic scooping that makes the front/rear length appear most ridiculous. especially on smaller (narrower) shirts the front/rear tails look like long silly flaps hanging over the crotch and butt. i'd much prefer a shallower scoop and an overall length somewhere between the 'flap' length and the side length.
