Those look awesome. I can't wait for my 30oz bull denim to get done so I can order a pair of the 12oz and 18oz. I like the brown stitching. I was thinking about brown or green stitch on a pair of 12oz Ochre 5 pocket and ivory or copper stitching on a pair of 18oz Brown 5 pocket.

I'm going to be ordering a pair of black 18-ounce duck 5 pocket. Not sure of what color stitching to go for.
Also not sure if I should cuff or not. I'm going to go with the narrower pocket spacing.

I want the same, but not black. I'm just not rocker enough, but I love the ducks. Dunno man - you can go stealth and all-black, or maybe a dark grey or if you want to pop - gold or red. All would look great, depending on your vibe...

I think my 9 oz will be shipping soon too. God bless Ciano for being such a trooper. I've e-mailed him like 3 times for special requests.

So will a 12oz Five pocket duck feel like a 12oz denim? Seems very light?

So will a 12oz Five pocket duck feel like a 12oz denim? Seems very light? i imagine there is a similarity in overall weight, but the duck canvas obviously has such a different texture (especially pre-wash). it definitely has a sturdy/substantial feel to it. i got the chino cut...so for me it feels like a heavy chino vs a light jean...a mental distinction perhaps...but resulting in me never having thought that they feel light.

Im just thinking a little between the 12 and 18 beacuse they are in different ends of the spectrum. I thank you for the info and will definately get 18 now.

After an initial wash, the 12 oz is fairly soft, with a broken in type of feel to it, where the 18oz is more rigid, and will require more wear to really soften it up, but still comfortable. Both pair are fantastic, and a fine alternative to denim.

I've been working with ciano to figure out my fit for a pair of the 12 oz duck in chino fit and so he shipped me a sample pair he had made around my size so we could get everything figured out. I got the pair on Saturday and it really helped me to understand the fabric better. As a bunch of you have pointed out, the duck canvas doesn't lay at all like denim or twill and it doesn't have much give to it so it won't stretch like denim will. The pants he sent were too tight for me in the thighs, but that helped me understand the fit better because if they had been denim, I might have been all over it. The chinos are fantastic pants though. All the construction details are top notch. The pockets bags feel crazy heavy, which means I won't be wearing holes in them. I like the corozo buttons but seeing them on the button fly made me opt for the shank buttons on the fly for my pair. It's going to be hard to wait for 6-8 weeks for my pair now, but based on my experience so far I expect to be ordering from ciano again and I have begun recommending him to everyone I think would be interested.

It was hard having the duck 18oz and 30oz denim in my hand then sent it back! Hopefully when I get back from Florida I will have both back.
Ciano is worth the wait some might call him the Lamborghini of pants.

I see Ciano has added vests to the website. I have the orche color one, and these are nice. I wouldn't put these in the "dress" vest catagory, but more of a casual work wear variety. Top pocket is big enough for glasses, phone, smokes, or whatever, and I can hide my small magnum revolver in the bottom pocket with no problem. The duck, with denim lining, makes for a very durable piece.
I think these will really wear in nicely, and improve with age.
