I have been wanting some duck canvas pants and just stumbled over to this thread. Looks promising! Has anyone fully deciphered the CF size charts for duck canvas orders? Their charts make perfect sense to me for raw denim, but I don't figure canvas will shrink or stretch as much. My waist measure 36.5. I wear a 35 straight in Gustin and 36 straight in LD. I'm guessing tagged 34 in CF 905 is the way to go. That's what I'd order. I wear a 33 straight in Gustin, with a measured waist of 34.5" so I went with the Ciano 32 in 905, which after washing and drying, came out exactly to spec at 34" Fit is perfect.

Sounds like CF confused your tag size with your actual size, @david.
I cannot for the life of me understand why smaller, internet-based companies in particular would use vanity sizing. It just introduces so many more opportunities to f!@k something up, be it on the customer end or the company end. And all for zero apparent benefit!

I would be a 34 by Ciano's fit chart. 37 then shrink to 36. Hopefully that works.

just paid the invoice on my ochre 12oz ducks, looking forward to trying these out, I'm wondering if the slim is the way to go though. Any Gustin slim wearers privy?

DANGIT, popped the button off my 12 oz ducks as well. Apparently this fabric has no give and all the stress goes straight to the closures.

Do they fit tight in the waist? I went with the Corozo bottons on my pair, and they are sewn on heavy duty. You can see where between the button, and fabric, there are multiple wraps of thread around the shank. My pair fit where I don't need a belt, but they are not snug either. Just where I like them.

Yep, metal button. They still fit but they're definitely a lot tighter after the wash. Apparently a little too tight.

I ordered the khaki duck chino in 18 oz., but I got an email that they sent the ochre 12oz. by mistake. They said if I like them they would send me an invoice, or I could send them back if I didn't want them. Well, they are not going back. Some of the nicest pants I have purchased. The construction and details are awesome for a pair of work pants, or any other pant for that matter. I will definelty order more things from Ciano.

Here are some fit pics Damn.... I have been holding out for a pair of 12oz Ciano canvas chino for awhile and it is just getting more and more difficult... loving my 18oz canvas jacket and can use a pair of lighter weight pant.

I should have my replacement pair early next week. If they fit well I will order at least one more pair in another color.

I know that there is some difficulty for some of the KS people still, though.

In speaking with Ciano, a lot of the KS difficulty comes from people not ordering the right sizes, and then shipping items back and forth. A lot of the backers are not even in the US to it is even more difficult/time-taking.

Just got my Ochre 12oz chino cut duck canvas. Took about 6 weeks which is great considering the wait I had with the G chinos and the rest of my LD order. I didn't measure them but they fit well. A little tighter than I expected down the calf but not unwearable by any means. I love the color. My only issue is for the chino cut the front pockets seem HUGE. Not a deal break but I might go with a jean cut next time. My experience with them has been great so I'll be ordering again.

Mind to share about your comment about the huge front pockets? Is it the openings or the pockets themselves?

I love the pocket bags he uses. 16oz manly ones, that will take a hit. I carry my wallet in my front pocket, and these are 10X better than the bags Gustin used in the Beasts. They are a freakin joke for a heavy denim.
I think the back pockets could be a tad larger though, as if you were to carry your wallet there, I think you'd have a hard time doing up the button, as it was for me when I tried that, and I use a small billfold.

I am getting used to the pockets and pocket bags. By big I mean the bags hang down a good 5 inches and the canvas is thick so they can bunch up or even show an outline even though mine are not that tight. But I love the construction. I have the G canvas and these may not be as smooth right now but in terms of construction I feel like the Ciano pants are built to last. Every part of it feels like they are challenging you to try and beat them up.
Ill try and get some pictures up later.

Gave my jeans a cold soak last night. The 16.7oz denim appears to have shrunk 1" in length. Photos of fit tonight.
