Lawless Wear What You Designed Contest
Ok this is likely the coolest thing I would love to happen for me.
We want you guys to come up with one of our designs & will name it after one of you. The idea is for us to choose one of your designs and then name it after the person who designed it. We will also give you the very 1st piece that comes out of production which will be custom made for the winner. Right now and I will update this once we have finalized everything, we would want to do this moving forward maybe once a month but haven't come up with anything set in stone. I mean what better way to hear what your customers want made. In the mean time start designing or thinking about what you would like made. You can send us a picture of something and instruct us of what changes you want to see on the photo you send. If you are clever with the web or can draw your own design that is great as well. I will update you guys of all the final specifics soon but definitely begin planning and researching what you think would be a dream Lawless item. This is an individual thing so 1 person will get their design made. If you prefer doing this with a friend that is fine as well.
We also want your lady friends to take part so please ask your wife, girlfriend, mom , sister or the girl you just want to impress to take part as well. In fact we will do 1 girl and 1 guy design
This to me is really cool because I imagine telling people I know " Look I designed that"
Lets be sure to post the submissions in here as we also want this to be exclusive to members in here. Tell whomever you want as all are welcome.
Like I said I will be posting a final draft with all the specifics soon so a few things may be changed or added. If you have any ideas, lets hear em.
Also hold off on posting any design ideas until we finalize everything but wanted to give you guys a bit of time to gather your ideas
We deserve the right to choose what will be made. 1 Mens design & 1 Woman's design will be chosen so 2 winners

Im glad you guys like it. Be pretty cool to own something you designed and then get it named after you even better. I would name mine the "Brooklyn" after my daughter. Also if your girls want to get in have them also design an idea

this is what I call interaction with your customers ....
btw, do you have any tool (based on InDesign or the like) which one could use for this?

drstrange, We have indesign but prefer o do it all by hand. So you can create in a illustrator/inDesign file and we can go from there. I don't know of any programs other then those that can be used. Correction there is gerber but thats a 15K piece of software.

Dirty_Denim; I'm not sure I'm really clear on this. This is a design using fabrics and materials that already exist at Lawless, or a design using any materials we can dream of?

Dirty_Denim I'm wondering if you want original designs or modifications to existing designs?

The designs will be what you dream up or based of designs you have seen made elsewhere. The fabrics requested can be the toughest part of the whole equation so you can suggest fabrics but understand it may be difficult to find. I would say base it off what we have to keep things moving fast into production

So this is nothing new, but I need one asap: * 8-buttons * smooth 100% wool outer shell * rayon lining * small buttons under collar * "hidden" throat latch * one row of stitching 3" above the cuff, one row just above the cuff * corduroy lined handwarmer pockets * fit must be like in pictures, not loose like the 1980 versions All info courtesy of the member Peacoat from the lounge. 1920`s sailors: Button: This could also be made in +18oz denim

Are we we to hold off posting our ideas DD? I don't want to tip my hand just yet. Not until I've got LD's full attention.

Unnamed, I like it. I would bring in the collar a bit and I agree it needs to be a bit more tapered. I do like the style.

DD and Roman, What a great idea. I already spend way too much time on the LD website and here, but I couldn't hold off. I would love to see a version of the Schott Perfecto, preferably a slightly stripped down version like their cafe racer. I would like the stitching on the shoulders/arms, and a minimalist approach (no belt). For example, here are a couple of versions as worn by The Ramones (I like the 3rd from left -- I think it's Marky R there) and James Dean. CLICK on photos to enlarge. This jacket would fit very well with the tough, functional, and legendary pieces already on display in LD (such as the Type 2, which I have on order!). I would like to see sleeve zippers, the single left hand flap pocket, and as noted the stitching detail on the arms (I like the 'stripe' stitching rather than the cross-hatching-- the stitching that you see in the Ramones image, and which also recalls the stitching on Brad Pitt's 'Mayhem' jacket in Fight Club). Fit would need to be close/slim as here, and the sleeves and rise kept short. Black leather is of course a must and with a red plaid liner preferably, and slash chest pocket with perhaps the chain tab pulls on zippers. I know the guys will love it!! Please do it!!!

I saw one of the Horween leather jackets finished as I was leaving today. I seriously was amazed that Lawless made it because even I doubted we could make a leather jacket that good. I think we can turn out a Schott Perfecto styled jacket beautifully. I should have snapped some photo's but I was packing to leave so I am left telling you about it.
