Yeah, it's a micro cord. Water repellent and used in military jackets. Typically the deck jackets will use it and for Sugar Cane's 50th anniversary they switched up its use and brought it to the peacoat.

They were a fairly good fit, but the shaft was just too tall for my comfort. That's why I smashed them down, lol. But, I actually I prefer the look, myself. I do plan to order another pair in black horsehide chopped down to 8".

Form AND function..... I hate putting things in my pants pockets, so wearing a vest gives me more pockets... AND it looks good! Not to mention, it adds another layer of warmth over your core

I have a Filson wool vest liner but it's pretty bulky under a Seattle fit jacket plus it's pretty ugly, wish I'd just have gone for a button up vest, slimmer and could wear it without the jacket

I do like work vest and have a couple, but when worn with an untucked shirt it looks sloppy to me. Same with short jackets like truckers.

Nice look, but I'd be careful about indigo transfer with new jeans on those boots if they're suede or nubuck. My IR Hawthorns got quite a bit and nothing will take it off.

Does it bleed through the weft? I cuff all my denims, never stack. But thanks, I'll keep that in mind when I buy and wear any color wefted denims.

I cuff all mine too and my G HA's bled through on to my Hawthorns. Because of that I never use newish indigo on suede or nubuck now. I think after a few washes it might be worth the risk. FWIW, I wouldn't take a chance with those new jeans on those smart boots, though. The IRs can take the stains more because they're knackered looking from the start, but your boots are too nice for that.

Only pair of G's the did that to me (heavy bleeding) were the first pair of Heavy Americans I got. Took lord knows how many washes - maybe 20 before they stopped. No other pair I have does that.

Old26, maybe I was just unlucky with the HAs too, but indigo transfer to suede/nubuck does seem to be a problem for many. I don't know if it only happens with indigo or if other colours might bleed too. I can't see it happening on my Japan Olives or any blacks, but the Oxbloods might be dodgy. DTBs are probably less of a risk because of the colour. I guess the main risk is from new and unwashed denim, particularly indigo.

Same thing here, heavy Americans bled all over my hawthorn Iron Rangers. It doesn't look that bad but I was definitely bummed.

Especially more if wet. If you don't want them to get stained I wouldn't wear them with raws.
