Ratio or brooks brothers (on sale -- go for the us made one), if you're looking for us made. Proper Cloth, j crew, or even combat gent if you're not looking for us made.

With ratio, you can buy similar (if not the same) fabrics gustin uses for their Oxford cloth, without the button down collar, or quite a bit in the way of lighter fabrics. Pinpoint Oxfords tend to have a bit of a shine but look a bit dressier than a standard Oxford cloth, would look quite nice in white. Other than that, ratio has some pretty good fabric descriptions.

Have you had experience with Indochino? I just hear a lot of bad experiences with them and that they're hit or miss on everything.

I was working myself up to buy this. www.indochino.com/product/premium-gray-sharkskin-suitAnd I like their shirt selection as well. I'll have to read up. Was is general fussiness or real issues?

It was real issues in the past with the fabric and fit, but I haven't really heard much from them since. They might have improved a lot since then, not sure. I've just blindly stayed away from them.

CTshirts has worked out well for me in the past - can't do much better when they go on sale for quality and fit

CTshirts has worked out well for me in the past - can't do much better when they go on sale for quality and fit I can't shake them. The Extra Slim is a good fit, they offer plenty of non non-irons and they hold up well. I still find it funny that they don't seem to list where they're made anywhere. I used to prefer Thomas Pinks because they're a little better made and were made in the UK, but they don't make them in the UK anymore so there's little advantage for the price delta.

I like the Thomas pinks too but the arms are too long so I have to factor in another $20

I like the Thomas pinks too but the arms are too long so I have to factor in another $20 I hate that they sell neck size but not sleeve on their slim and extra slim. It works out for me since a 16.5" neck is a 36" sleeve, but that's just a stupid way to do it. Especially since their tent sized regular cut (wearing an older British sewn one today) offer neck and sleeve sizing. CT's casual shirts have really short sleeves though, so I guess it cuts both ways.

Ratio has the MiUSA thing going and PC has a lot more customizations and more materials, but is not MiUSA.

I really need to get myself measured properly by a tailor. I've tried Ratio, but failed miserably. It was tight all over and loose in other places. Requested a return, and am still waiting to hear back.

Old men go super conservative when holding a tape measure and will try to talk you into a huge shirt and pants up at your nipples.

Half of them, I was like, uh..what. I'll look for a younger tailor, thanks.
