I'm hoping to stop by the LD shop today, if I can sneak out of the office early enough. See if there's any new fabrics to pass along to the group. Take some porn pics for us please???

Oh no. Roman and I already agreed on a denim for my pair. Don't fill my head with doubt and indecision! LOL What denim did you pick? Feel free to influence the decisions of others!

It was not lost on me that it's likely the same denim as the SH I was really tempted by the 14oz IndigoXBrown also...

I think you are correct. Not knowing the mill on the SH leaves us to assume, but I think it's a safe assumption.

I really like how Roman lists the mills.

I am really hesitated to back any jeans from Gustin after I saw the price different on SH and Lawless. I hate the feeling that while I am waiting for the Gustin pair to arrive and the next thing I know is Lawless is selling the same thing with customized detail for half the price. That will be totally suck.

I have very limited clothing budget and cannot spend $120 for a pair of jeans that I can get somewhere else for $69. Same for work shirt..... I am glad for others that just don't care.

Honest question, not trying to be a dickhead about this, but where are you finding stuff like the Zims or Oxbloods or NIxP or ZimLite or Antique Nep for $69?

It's an honest question and I have no doubt that Lawless will provide some unique denim offerings. Are you looking for the Lawless versions of the Zims, Oxbloods, etc, but just for $69 or things that you wouldn't find on Gustin? I believe (and Roman could speak to this) that one of the fabrics offered with the KS had/has Zimbabwe cotton in it. It wasn't promoted, but I recall Roman mentioned it.

Yeah, it could just be Gustin does a better job of flogging what makes their particular denims unusual. I don't know. I just thought the criticism of Gustin charging $120 for denim one can find elsewhere for 40% less to be, at best, only partially fair. That may be true of some of their "standard" stuff (the Super Heavy comes to mind), but I'm not sure the same can be said for more unusual fabrics like herringbones and hemps and some of the others. And I wasn't specifically trying to compare to Lawless. It would be equally unfair to compare their product range to Gustin's considering that Lawless sounds like a niche, bespoke outfit just getting off the ground in the broader "selvedge for everyday enthusiasts" market whereas Gustin has been working in that space for a couple years already.

Completely fair assessment Mattbert, I think it will be a wait and see with Lawless or any of the other KS or established denim providers. I'll be curious to see what Roman and others bring in as their future denim campaigns - a lot of opportunity, especially if you browse sites like Pacific Blue Denim for ideas and how they charge for those unique runs. I'm optimistic.

My comment was referring to the Gustin Super Heavy. I just didn't want to name the fabric.

Like what I said from my earlier message, it is great for others who can afford to pay $120 for a substitute that cost less. It is the same idea that many of my friends only buy Japanese jeans for $350-$500 instead of paying $120 for a pair of Gustin. With my limited clothing budget, I just need to be careful with my money and cannot afford to pay more for very similar product from Gustin.

Sorry for the large post but i'm excited Roman I would love if you sourced & made: 1) some sort of calico print fabric & or a solid indigo with fading properties like indigo dyed twill. 2) a natural indigo hand dyed denim with similar characteristics to the denim pictured Samurai Jeans S510AI-OGSP Limited Edition Hank Dyed with Natural Indigo (using 24 dyeing repetitions) 100% Organic Cotton* special heavy ounce denim, shuttle loom woven with thick and uneven #5 yarns gives a rugged appeal which exudes the elegance of organic cotton for a finalized luxury denim. SELF EDGE X DRY BONES NATURAL INDIGO HANK DYED JEAN 100% natural indigo dyed yarns which were hank-dyed to produce a very deep indigo shade which cannot be replicated using modern dying methods and synthetic dyes. Once the yarn is dyed it is then woven into denim on a wooden (but machine powered) loom yielding an extremely uneven texture which brings out the great deep indigo shade hidden within the fabric. The Dry Bones pair is possible the best denim I have seen & would love to have something similar to these if possible
