While window shopping at BOW, I came across this..... History of PBJ AI
Released every 3 years, they are produced in 3 cuts, 001, 002, 003. Price points, from BiG and BOW, are not for the faint of heart. But, they can still be had from denimio, for far less. These were a grail item for me. The color, and character are 2nd to none. To many here, these may be excessive, in a number of ways. But, if you are looking for a truly special denim, you can't go wrong with these. Love the crazy weave. Low tension, loom chatter at it's slubby best.

interesting...I like the whole natural indigo dyeing process but I'm afraid that those will look way to streaky for my tastes. I would have to see a pic of the full jean to be certain though.

There's a terminal amount of mom jeans going on here (they are the 001 fit), but the denim itself looks less streaky than I'd have thought.

The comparisons to the Pima Fires have been made before. Cameras really pick up the white weft threads that pop through. Their appearance, IRL, is nothing like what you see in pics. But, I have yet been able to snap a pic that truly represents their appearance.

I assume that's a 20" front rise?

Those are beautiful - studio artisan has a similar denim in the same price point Momo, Oni, and Samurai also have models utilizing the same dying process. Of course, all of them are at significant price points. I went with PBJ, because of the added character of the denim.

My son lived in his Gustin's for a long time until he finally gained a size in the waist...

I assume that's a 20" front rise? I'm certainly not recommending anyone go with the 001 cut. But, to each his own, I guess.

That dude clearly has issues, the shirt would fit Chris Farley (a living one) and the shoes should be left in the hospital. Also the belt is cheap, the way he hold his hand is totally not cool, and by the looks of the skin he eats to little vegetables. Pose itself is not approved of and signifies wrong taste in music/movies. No wedding-band could (but not sure) represent an "easy" way of looking at relationships. The jeans appear washed and probably tumbled since they are lighter and soft, and too short. Could be infront of a pub which matches the no weddingband. Bicycle to and from pub is ok if not too much is consumed, but this cant be proved and it could also be not his bike - we need to see the combs to know for sure but I assume they are nonexistant at this point.

Bike has a kickstand, and it's not worn down to a nub from creating blocks and blocks of sparks. I tried to make that a Bowers & Wilkens speaker stand in the background, but it's just some cheap crap.
Like a cool pair of jeans magically materialized in the middle of a lame storm.

Haha yeah, they could be photoshop into the picture, we dont know!
I see the stand as something holding a rope like entrance to pub/restaurant (restaurant has alcohol) and the lighting suggest its a little early for scotch but i dont think thats the drink of style here. But a cosmopolitan is also not lunch!

I cannot tell you guys how much I would need to spend to tailor those jeans up there....
Btw, I lost my Korean tailor lady during my move to SF. very sad.... although, ABfit is just down the street from my office here. I am wondering what will be the conversation if I ask them to cut my G workshirt in pieces.

In all honesty, I can't deny the streaky appearance, especially when new. If you put them next to another pair of not so slubby denim, you notice. It makes for quite a contrast. But, when worn, I haven't noticed any undue attention to them. Outside of looking directly at them, from within a couple of feet, you really don't see anything but another pair of denim. For an example of just how irregular, and slubby they are, here is a weft shot, next to my Oni Kabuki Vedge( 2nd slubbiest denim I own).....

Because of the dyeing process, the natural indigo is saturated to the core. They will take some time. But, I'm convinced they will look freaking awesome, when they get there. I've noticed some light fading on the peaks of the combs, already. Oddly, with all my other denims, it's the whiskers that seem to fade much quicker. Why ? I don't know. It'll be nice, not to fight for the comb fades, though.
