I think we're going to see more and more of this androgynous s#@%. When David Bowie did it, it was art (I guess). Now it's coming main stream.

Just a few weeks ago at the Registry. Guy with long hair, faded jeans, Birkenstocks (so far nothing wrong) But it was the Pleated women's jacket and odd purse that made it all Weird. It'll be coming to a HighSchool near you soon enough.

The hilarious part about these brands (it's all pretty hilarious I know) is how absurdly priced they are. I saw this www.idolbrooklyn.com/collections/visvim on Reddit, and it has some winners like this and the matching shorts. $1600 for what they call a blazer, and $600 for the shorts that come with it. Insane.

Oh lord....freaking millennials...they will be the death of our country. I'm on the now older end of the millenials. Some things are nuts going on. Gender bending clothing - if you speak out against it you are a bigot and closed minded. Auto driving cars, the lack of millennials wanting to drive at all and no more stick shifts. Social media. Putting all personal business out and about. Kids and every little thing. Don't get it. This forum is fun and all but we are pretty impersonal here.

See there's a bit of an issue I take with it. Why do you have to "speak out" against it at all? By doing so, assuming they are doing it for attention, you're giving them what they want, and if they actually feel better that way, you're actually recommending that someone do what they're not comfortable with to make you feel better, which is bigoted and closed minded. Let's not forget that this isn't something that started and ended in glam rock, "grunge artists" we're doing it all through the "good old" 90s, which hard rock radio has forgotten. MASH ran for 12 years or whatever with a cross-dressing dude. To claim it's new is to ignore a lot of history.
For example, if you don't listen to David Bowie or stone temple pilots or hate Eddie Izzard because they wear or wore women's clothing, that is bigotry. If you don't listen to it because you don't like what they do or did, then you're stating an opinion which you are absolutely allowed to do, and isn't necessarily bigoted. If you think anyone with gender issues should be treated with electro-shock therapy (the 50s and 60s method), well, I think you should work on compassion and empathy -- but I don't think we're heading back there because you might be uncomfortable with a dude wearing a shawl.
It's also fair to say about half of gen-x can't drive stick.
I guess my point is, something you don't like isn't evidence of the ruination of our country, and it's easy to review the past through rose-colored glasses.

Technically I'm a boomer, so you all are spoiled! The funniest stuff on SF is usually in WAYWT. I looked at the last link and there were two coats that I would wear. Traditional looking. Don't care what people wear but I'll snicker when I see it. Men's clothing is so rooted in tradition that anything that deviates looks odd. Even some of the work wear inspired brands make some awful looking stuff i.e. EG and MF. I think they feel the need to do it or they aren't taken seriously in the industry and let's face it the work wear as fashion is old news. I look at the YY thread sometimes and some of it is cool but I'd NEVER wear it.

I will say internet justice is ruthless. It's like the old posse lynch mobs of the Wild West. Seriously.
