That's funny. My roughouts have been amazing. No issues whatsoever. Look great, feel great. Something about the leather just didn't look quality. I donno just a gut feeling. I hope Rancourt x Taylor Stitch doesn't do the Knox boot rough out again I might crack and buy them. The leather of which? The regular, or roughouts? The roughouts I can vouch for.

I had Wolverine 1000 miles but like the other thread about it, I can't recommend it cause the leather sole was wrecked after a couple of months of sporadic use. Maybe if I resoled them to a logger it would have lasted longer but at the same time I bought a D and needed a E.
I have truman's on order so I don't know how they will break in and feel comfort wise, hoping the toe box will work for me.
I still own some Timberland Boot Company Blake Winter 2012s, pretty heavy to me. I think the most I used it was when I worked in Europe for a couple of months, other than that it sits on my shelf.

@untucked do your Blake's run tts for Brannock? I haven't used a brannock device in AGES..... At least 2 decades. But I'll see if I can track down one and step in to it for you.

I'd probably go with Alden via TheShoeMart because they have a good selection of models and widths. Redwing and Truman have good reps but I don't have experience with either.

Hmm, I reached out to Truman about sizing on the Black Waxed Flesh and haven't heard from them. But I think someone said that Truman was going to stop taking custom orders sometime this month.

I also came across a new company via Instagram called Grant Stone. They don't have anything up for sale yet but a lot of their boots and shoes look promising

Hard to judge the quality since a reddit'er hasn't sawed a pair in half yet, lol

What do you guys think of these? They make me curious. Timberland, which I normally don't like, but CXL hide, and look interesting...

Not buying anything - can't. But I was kinda shocked that those were Timber's...

They look like a de-teched version of their coyote tan military boots. I'd probably wear them though I don't think they'd dethrone the Muleskinner Iron Ranger for me unless that sole is grippy as all get-out, but they look like a flat sole from that little picture.

Why do so many boot makers only offer Horween Chromexcel for Natural? I don't like the look of it. It looks too colored already. So many other natural options that look better imho.
Also, does anyone know of a maker who does wide widths that sells a natural boot? OSB, Truman etc are all only D widths.
I am getting a pair of brown CXL SD from Whites, but still want something in natural.

^it does not make sense for makers to offer multiple widths of such a niche leather.
