One of the few new sitcoms I watch is Blackish, funny stuff. The father normally wears denim western or work shirts. Last night had a great scene where he was shopping for clothes with his wife. He put on jeans, a western shirt and a denim jacket, asked what she thought. She said he looked like a farmer going to his daughters wedding in Alberta. Worth a watch.

Watched Blackish last night - was OK.
It was funny seeing him with the all-denim outfit - and sorry, but of course it was funnier him being a black guy as this is usually fodder for us white rednecks LOL.

Haven't been able to get into it, but I'll try it again after I catch up on Todd Margaret and Jessica Jones. I have a limited window since all the shows are coming back from winter break.

I wish they hadn't gotten rid of Charlie. One the funnier characters.

I finally had a chance to start watching the Netflix multipart documentary Making a Murderer that I have heard many people being very moved and emotional about watching. I can't really describe how I feel about it as it has made me almost emotionally numb. I can say I highly recommend watching it. It is not overly graphic in any way. I can't recall watching anything else recently so riveting. Being it is real and not a movie really makes the difference. It makes O.J.'s Bronco chase and trial seem lifeless compared to this. I am about half way through and won't give any spoilers even though it doesn't matter if you already know the outcome. I will say it makes you think about justice, law enforcement and the penal system in a new light. Be ready to have 10 hours available for it. www.netflix.com/title/80000770

I have been meaning to check out Making of a Murderer as well Winterland . I just watched "Cartel Land", one of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time. It's about the never ending problem of the drug cartels power in Mexico which is spilling across our borders. The documentary follows two main characters (one US citizen stateside in Arizona, the other a doctor in Mexico)who are literally taking matters in to their own hands to fight the drug cartels. Some places in Mexico are literally 3rd world country war zones possibly even worse than the middle east as there is literally no protection for the citizens from the authorities. I've watched quite a few documentaries about the cartels and this is easily the best. Very compelling and the cameramen and crews get front line access to the day to day life and operations of living under control of the cartels. We're talking gunfights breaking out in the middle of filming a scene (several times) etc... The coolest part about this though to me is the fact that the citizens are fighting back against these cartels. It's some real wild west type shit. I highly recommend it, I caught it on A and E just by chance but I'm not sure if it's on Hulu or Netflix. Trailer; cartellandmovie.com/#trailer

I've heard that making a murderer doesn't tell the whole story, leaving out key evidence that was shown in court. I'm gonna skip it. Bloodline and Narcose on Netflix are very good.

I have friends that said that too. Still going to check it out. If only because I don't want to be the only one that hasn't seen it...

Even if that was true, with the improprieties you see happen throughout you would at least want them both to get a new trial far away and in no way connected to Wisconsin.

Here is a glimpse into the of the kind of intimidation and manipulation that was used on Brandon the mentally slow younger nephew of Steven Avery who was the only one to confess and give detail into the murder. He changed his story many times depending on who was interviewing him. Remember this is supposed to be for his defense!!

Anyone that hasn't seen the doc "WWll in HD" it's available on Netflix until the 14th. It's very well done.

Yes, the way they have intertwined narration with firsthand accounts is very powerful.

60% done with Making a Murderer. First episode makes you wonder why anyone is watching it, then it gets you. Highly recommended. Not done yet, and I won't put up any spoilers. All I know is I'm pissed off watching this thing. Why? Can't say...

If you can get past that, it just gets more and more mind-blowing. Certainly not everyone will feel that way, but I understand that the first episode was like ZZZZQuil.

I started watching "Better Call Saul", a spinoff prequel to Breaking Bad revolved around the lawyer Saul from that series (obviously). It's actually pretty damn good, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be lame but I'm almost through the first season on Netflix. whiskeyriver you might dig it, there's a decent amount of lawyer pissing contest action that's really cool to watch.
