The missing link in my IH vest collection arrived today, so here they all are in all their glory. It's fair to say I like these a lot. In particular, I like the simple patch pockets of the 4 on the right, as the sizing is very practical. The upper pockets completely cover my card holder/wallet, and also can fit my big LG G4, although that fits better in the lower pockets with only an inch showing. The one on the left's top pockets fit the card holder and the inner pockets are great for the phone. Left to right: IH-9526V superblack; IHV-02 black Wabash; IHV-09 beach cloth; IHV-02 indigo Wabash; IHV-02 double duck canvas.

@untucked, my first thoughts were that it's very plain and that the front is noticeably stiffer than the 12oz Wabash ones, but not as OTT as the 21oz superblack.
Having said it's plain, it's exactly what I wanted to wear with my CF Wabash jeans and various checked shirts. It's also a little bit longer than the Wabashes, not that that matters.
It's drying now after a luke-warm soak, but I look forward to breaking it in. The more use it gets the better.

The warm soak kills the starchy "sheen". Best of luck in breaking it in!!!

I'm 5'11" and don't have any issue with the 02 lengths, but I can imagine if you're say 6'2" or more, or wear low rise jeans, then you'd probably prefer extra length.

I'm 6' 2" and usually wear mid to high rise jeans, the 02DD is a lot better length than the 02's.....

Just don't know how I like the waistcoat look on the normal vests. The super black has the motorcycle Hell's Angels look but not sure on waistcoats.

Order one of the Wabash 02's from Rakuten... Only like $120ish. That way, if you don' like it, you're not out too much dough until you sell it.
Me personally, I love the "vest look". I'm actually known for it when I go out and about. It adds just a tad more character to an outfit without being over-the-top. Basically, like what a nice tie does. Want to wear a t-shirt without looking like a total slouch? Throw a vest over it. Want to be casual with a button-up, but still have some flare? Throw a vest over it! I mean really, it takes you from "He just threw some clothes on....." to "Hmmmm... Maybe I should start wearing vests like that guy.....", lol.

My dad has worn Carhartts for years and I'm starting to think he's onto something. Glad to hear the 02-DD is a little longer too, I'm 6'4" and it just might work.

So, I also really like them for the extra pocket space when working or just on the go. I hate storing things in my pants pockets, so it really works out for me with the vests

When I'm sporting a vest, I don't carry anything in my pants pockets, which makes things easier to get to, and more convenient.

I'm with you, @untucked and davelewis. I hate carrying anything in my jeans and only use a card holder as a wallet, so a vest is ideal. It's also good for wearing over a shirt without pockets, as I did today at work. For jackets like the N-1, without interior pockets, vests are also a useful thing to wear. Hopefully more people will move over to the dark side.

What size is the IH-9526V? have you worn it over a jacket?

What size is the IH-9526V? have you worn it over a jacket? All my vests are a size Large, but the 9526 is in reality a size up from the others. It might fit tightly over a café racer type jacket, as in a really slim cut one, but nothing bulkier. I've tried it on over my oxblood G Trucker and it fits ok and actually looks pretty good, but I've only worn it out over a t-shirt and shirt and sometimes a jumper too. The 9526 was my first IH vest, as I always liked the look of it, but the material is insanely stiff, nothing like the 634S 21oz, as the pic on my thread (copied below) showed. I bruised my finger trying to button it, but after a few days it became manageable.

You're saying it fits LARGER than your other IH vest? That's what I gathered about it - size down if you want to wear over something slim like a tshirt/shirt. It's meant to be worn over a jacket..I'm contemplating it to wear over my Vanson..
I will be in NYC this weekend and may have a moment to go to SE..if they have it in stock I'll try it on. Apples to oranges but my Large Eddie Bauer down vest fits over my Vanson

It's larger, but not noticeably so, which is why I think it would only fit over a thin or slim jacket. You'd maybe need to go up another size to wear it comfortably over something bulkier or with a warm layer under the jacket. This is it over just a shirt (IHSH-33-blk I think) and T, so certainly not huge. I hope you're able to try it on.

Ha, ickes, I hadn't a clue what a Sonny Barger was until I googled it there, but I'm still not much wiser. I just bought it because I liked the colour and style, and LD had failed me on their own version. If LD had just delivered the goods, I doubt if I'd have gone over to IH, but I guess I'm not the only one in that situation.

Ok, with ya. It certainly looks pretty identical. The only difference is that the 9526 is 21oz and the SE one says 22. Other than that, I can't tell them apart.
