This shot makes it more appealing to me. This one's cool too, but speaks a little too much to my pendejo heritage. Is that this one?

I'm thinking about selling my GNats and pulling on a pair of these. The sale is making them pretty tempting.

drewcandraw Measured the shoulders and they're actually a little bigger than spec at 20". Could be I've been wearing the shirt a couple days and it stretched, all other measurements are within 1/8". Nep denim typically has a looser weave according to what I've read so I'm going to assume it stretched that half inch.

that buffalo check looks nice but looks way too close to a black x red buffalo check to me..maybe not so much in person??? I picked up the black western flannel and the copper stantons today. Fingers crossed. Great choice on the black western flannel. That might just be the highlight of the collection for me and if it weren't for the neppy workshirt filling a hole in my wardrobe, I might have grabbed one too. Wouldn't mind seeing a macro of the fabric, haven't seen one yet and the solid black makes detail difficult to make out.

I'll prolly order an XL

I think it would be a great pairing with darker denim

Agreed, as would the Neppy Western with worn in denim.

Agreed, as would the Neppy Western with worn in denim. i'm torn on the neppy western because it's an 11oz fabric and from what i've read it's a tough fading sonofab!tch. love the look but was wondering if 11oz denim is too heavy for a shirting fabric.

This shot makes it more appealing to me. that shot does make it appealing. tbh, i looked at the product shots on the rt page and didn't see why everyone was digging it so much.

My WabiSabi is heavier and works fine. My 11oz jeans are comically slow faders though. Would be nice to find a denim Western that actually fades.

well I received my copper stantons and black western flannel and I am completely underwhelmed. These are going straight back. If this black western flannel is a 195 dollar shirt then an IH UHF is a steal even at today's prices. Go ahead, roll your eyes IH haters but seriously there is absolutely no comparison. I honestly wouldn't pay more than 60 dollars for this black Western flannel.
The fit is odd, super high armholes, tight around the arms. I ordered a L and would need an XL probably. The fabric quite honestly feels very cheap. I held it up to the light and I could see through this fabric. It honestly felt like linen. I was beyond disappointed considering how happy I was with my 14 oz Stantons. This fabric is stated as being full of visual texture, well I must be blind. I seriously just wanted to take it off as soon as I put it on.
As for the Copper Stantons they weren't as disappointing as the black flannel but they are nothing to be excited about. Similar in color to the Downtown Browns but with more of a red hue under the light. They fit pretty good but they will be going back as well. Again, not worth the price tag at all IMO.
People can say what they want about the prices of IH shirts but in my experience so far there is without a doubt no comparison. I was hoping an American company could impress me with some of their long sleeve work/western shirts but the bar is set extremely high by the always polarizing IH and nobody comes close. That being said I am very pleased with the 3sixteen salt and pepper chambray I have and the price I paid for it. I probably wouldn't pay much more for it though.
anywho, I got off track a bit but man..really disappointed today. IMO these shirts are far more overpriced than any IH shirt when you consider what you get for the price you paid.

Thanks for reporting back though, saved me some time and money. Might be done with clothes for a while and focus on getting a couple tattoos this winter instead. Just wore the S&P chambray yesterday and gotta say, that's a really nice shirt for the money. Come to think of it my whole outfit was put together for under half off retail. The law of diminishing returns at work again.

Fwiw, I don't think anyone is arguing against the quality of IH. I just think some people have a hard time spending $250-350 for a flannel shirt. I'll eventually get an IH flannel but for now it'll have to wait

I'll eventually get an IH flannel but for now it'll have to wait Oh I totally understand that. The point I was trying to make (apparently unsuccessfully ) was that people say they have a hard time spending 250-350 for an UHF yet no one seems to bat an eye or raise much of a concern at all at spending 195 for one of these RgT's. There is no comparison between the two in terms of overall quality. It's not exactly easy for me to spend the 250-350 on an IH flannel but you get a much better bang for your buck than you do with these RgT's. And honestly...now that I have purchased two RgT flannels it is much easier for me to spend the money on an IH shirt than ever before. Like I said earlier, I honestly wouldn't spend more than 60 bucks on these RgT shirts. I didn't mention it in my first post but I also bought one of their blue Ombre western flannels that they dropped last year as it was on sale so I figured it would be a good deal. Nope. Again, very low quality for what you get IMO. The fabric is not good at all and really looks nothing like the pics. I can't return it either as I bought it on sale. So who wants to buy it from me?? great selling points I just made right? lol

I hear ya. I don't recall ever paying full price for any of my flannels, with the exception of my Studio D'Artisan which was around $135 from Denimio. It's unlikely I'd pay full price for any US maker shirts. I think the cheapest IH flannel i've seen was $245, but i'm sure they can be had cheaper via ebay/grailed.

Yeah, full retail isn't good on their shirts. But they have major distribution and therefore someone always has all but the newest drops on sale.
Also, like many jeans brands, their jeans are much better than their shirts, weird, I know.

Now I'm debating on picking up the 18 oz stantons or the new IH 17oz natural indigo/organic in the 777 cut. Anyone have the RgT 18oz?

Tried them on, but haven't bought a pair. I had my 11oz Stantons in the last few days, great fit, just kinda prefer the SK fit recently. May do either the 14oz IxI or the 18oz in SK or if they roll out the Strider in either.

ickes I get the love for the UHF but my search is for mid wieght flannel now. A weight that can be worn around the home. The IH Ultra heavy is to much for kicking around inside. I have no need for more then the one UHF that I have. Im looking for classic styles (Ombré, Buffalo check, HBone). I dislike that RGT doesn't post much info on the fabrics (like the wieght). Which blue Flannel did you get, size, price? I may be interested.

Which blue Flannel did you get, size, price? I may be interested. that's kinda where i'm at with flannel weight. I get hot very easily, even during Minnesota winters so my fear is that an IH UHF would be overkill. when I wore my 3sixteen crosscut shaggy flannel last winter I sweat like a pig with it on indoors, and that's not even a heavyweight fabric. Likewise, my Edgevale flannels clock in around 5-6oz but they're very warm. I'm sure a UHF would serve me well on the coldest of days but I don't know that i'd be able to wear it all day long unless I worked outside. But, I can see how other flannels might seem flimsy when compared to IH UHF's, especially for what you're paying.

Brushed interiors kill me. I'd prefer a twill to anything brushed. Way too hot indoors. And ultimately, trying to stay warm with cotton is foolish anyway.
Not saying I don't get the appeal of heavier flannels, but using that as a selling point has almost no traction with me.

being a Phoenix native I am a wuss when it comes to cold weather so I get cold very easily. Even so, the UHF's are even too warm for me on some winter nights so they can definitely be too much for some.

I find it funny when I see dudes on IG posting pics of their flannel shirts in states that have warm weather practically year round, like California or Texas.
