Crosshatch Type II is amazing. Yeah $190 is not cheap but I'd put this up against much more expensive brands any day.
Do not hesitate to get something from Manny.
Btw the denim feels very rigid. I know it'll break in eventually but it's gonna be a stiff few weeks.

Sugar Cane would be the only brand that is cheaper but they don't make anything bigger than a 42. TCB will custom make type II jackets for anyone but the price comes out to be about the same but you're limited to just the 13.5 oz denim. Manny is probably the best bet for anything tailored right now and he's fast.

Japan Blue has a 16.75oz type 2 for $180 and a BlackxBlack for $175 via Okayama Denim.

throw it in the wash to loosen it up some Yeah. I have mixed thoughts but might go that route. My type III could use a quick wash too. I use the hand wash cycle no spin. Then low spin just until it's not dripping soaking wet and hang to dry. Did you wash yours right away?

Hi guys. So I'm thinking of getting a Type 2 from Manny. Can anyone speak to the custom option in terms of how your fit turned out? Any other comments on construction, etc? It all sounds good, and a good deal ... but 190 is 190 if you know what I'm saying. Thanks!

I recommend taking your body measurements then doing some research on how you should size your garments based on body measurements. He's pretty knowledgable on making patterns based on body measurements so strike up a convo with him

beeranddenim Did the measurements match your Gustin as intended ? It could be the 16-17 oz prevents the garment from draping right. The stiffness & weight makes for an ill fitting top imo. My 16 oz shirt never gets worn because of that

Or you just need to buy a Triumph.

I actually haven't measured and it's really only and issue when I'm standing with my arms straight against my waist which nobody except a nutcracker does.
Sitting here typing out this message and it's up at my wrist. I think it's drapes normal I just generally wear my shirts and jackets a little shorter in the sleeve or my watches fits funny
And I totally forgot to check out th pocket liners. This jacket fits great. For me the best part is the shoulders and chest fit right in which is sometimes a challenge. I don't work out much anymore but I still have a bit of a swimmers frame. Wide shoulders. Slightly more narrow chest then narrower waist. So shirts to accommodate my shoulders are sometimes blousy but a slim fit sometimes pulls about the third button down.

I rode a barstool at the Modern Times brewery yesterday and the jacket performed admirably. Those tasting rooms can get cold

Any further details on converting body size to jacket size greatly appreciated. I also just signed up for his newsletter. The measurements on his slim straight cut is pretty good except I'm about a dead on 38 and normally buy 38.5. (so 36 vanity sizing and 38 G sizing). Looking at his chart I'd have to choose between 38 and 40 which kind of leaves me in the lurch if anything shrinks much. FOr example, I like these, but I have no idea how much they would shrink. IT's like I need fabric notes to decide between the two sizes. www.indigogene.com/jeans-3/r9vzk6kg51y0kvxcxhrut48eu9eg0v

Thnks BB. IT's funny reading that because I got a hell of a deal on a Hugo Boss cashmere overcoat in my size a few months ago. I was elated. But when I got it, it was like it was customized for an extremely thin man, it was like wearing a corsett at the waist. I have no idea how anyone would get a jacket on under that jacket.
MODS: could we get this thread re-titled so it says INDIGOGENE in the name? There are several GENERAL DISCUSSION threads with no topic name in the subject line.

The way the hierarchy works is Board-Thread-Post Indigo Gene had its own Board titled Indigogene then there is this thread titled General Discussion. It hasn't been broken into other threads with more specific names. That could easily be done when someone posts about say an Indigogene western shirt they could title it western shirt or shirts etc. When you are in this thread you can see it is under Indigogene by phone or computer, hover mouse to the left of General Discussion in upper header area. I think this helps address your comment.

Winterland - the mobile view doesn't include the hierarchy, so all you end up seeing is the thread name (when in recent posts view), without any indication of where it resides. the mobile view seems to be the least popular, so when I'm on my phone I just deal with it. It seems something like this isn't an issue with the tapatalk app or whatever.

You will know if you click that thread name though. Tapatalk does show it so you could use that. Having a thread name be the same as the board would seem kind of strange. I know there are multiple other thread names that are the same shirts, boots etc under different brand boards.

Cool video. Great to be able to put a face to name. I've had a few items made by Manny / Indigogene now and they have all been just awesome. Any issues were cheerfully addressed. No attitude. Manny is very responsive to design ideas and input but also has let me know if he thinks something doesn't look good or might look better done differently than I requested. The custom items he has made for us are: - Men's custom military pants in the 12.6oz Japanese Dova - I know this pants style isn't for everyone but the details, fit and construction are great. Even the chambray lining of the rear pockets is selvedge and has an exposed selvedge edge when you lift up the pocket flap. Pics of this below - Two pairs of women's custom jeans - Take care of your lady and she is lot more understanding about the piles of jeans laying around... - Two custom mariners vests - these are so great but very specific to a Mister Freedom vibe. Details include camo lining on one and a vintage USN blanket lining on the other as well as D front pockets and vintage anchor pea-coat buttons - Custom women's and men's military pants in Black/Black Candiani- these pants are great with tonal stitching and work kinda like chinos. No, we don't we don't wear them at the same time! We have really like everything we have received so far. I can only say good things.

modslife I agree with you on all the sentiments. My dad is requesting a very tactical style long-sleeve and I asked Manny if he could do it. Very wierd request but it's what my dad wants and Manny was like I can. He made my Arizona workshirt and even though it was just at tad longer than I wanted, he is fixing it with no problems as his customers take priority. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as well. He has made/making: - arizona workshirt: custom sizing which is a slim L/XL - tactical workshirt: for my dad, will post pics up when it's finished - chambray workshirt: nothing special really but just got it made - slim jeans in a 34 so i can try the sizing/fitting before I buy a custom pair We texted a week ago and he said he will try to put out more info on the forums soon as he is busy making everyone's stuff

I was disappointed not to get a response to an email request for a shirt, but I assume he doesn't want to send overseas.
