Here is a review of my Indigogene Western Shirt. Not sure if it has a name or not? I might have read somewhere. Tombstone. Feel free to correct me indigogeneThe fabric is a 13.5 Japanese Nihon Menpu with black snaps and copper? thread, 2 cuff snaps with another further up the sleeve. The sewing and overall quality is spot on. No issues that I can see. I might give the shirt a soak as it is a raw fabric and a soak can help the fabric to tame down and drape better. The pockets are fully lined. The scoop is very nice just the right amount. I am very happy and think Manny and Indigogene did a great job on my first item from them. It was delivered in a timely manner with good communication. Here are the specs and some pictures. I will post post soak specs later. I have compared it against my indigo/indigo Lawless shirt which I also like. As you can see it is not as dark as the I/I fabric is very dark. Labeled Medium. Pit to Pit-19.75" Shoulders-17.25 Arms-25.75 Front-22.75 Back-25.25 Waist-39

Winterland Your shirt looks great. It looks like indigogene knocked it out of the park. Enjoy.

Just picked up my shirt from manny today. I'm local, and last week I went in, got measured, picked my fabric and details, and today I picked up my completed shirt. Details are on point. Pocket lining was great. Usually I have issues with shirts being too wide and the length fitting, or too short but the width fits. This shirt is exactly what I wanted in every regard. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I'll be doing so. Just wanted to give a noobs reaction to the product.

indiecred17 Good solid shirt and fit. With a little fun on the pocket linings . i thought of getting something similar but am going with a heavy canvas instead. But may end up getting one like yours.

Such a dope fit. It's easily the best fitting shirt I have. I ended up bringing my girl to get measured for some custom jeans. He says he'll have them ready for fitting next week and another week to finish up after the fitting. I'll get pictures when she gets them. God help my bank account having someone who can crank out custom clothes for me who i live 2 miles away from.

The shirt looks great, very tidy and really nice looking denim. My only concern would be how low that bottom button is..

For your girl's jeans is it a custom pattern sewed up to her measurements? Or custom details applied to an existing pattern?

For your girl's jeans is it a custom pattern sewed up to her measurements? Or custom details applied to an existing pattern? Custom pattern for her measurements. She's got a big butt and skinny waist so most denim brands don't fit right. She either gets something that won't pull up past her butt or that fits her butt, but has an extra 4 inches in the waist. So he took her measurements and he's gonna essentially see up the top half. Then we are going back to make sure that fits right, and he's going to measure and fit the thighs while she's wearing them and get the final approval on them before sewing them up completely. At least that's how it sounded to me. It's kind of a gamble as he doesn't have any pattern to go off for this specific pair but if it works it will be a godsend. The way my shirt came out, I figured it was worth the gamble.

Some advice for Manny and to answer your question gaseousclayDepends on what you want. Having a set price wont work for custom because each design will have its own obstacles. Manny will have to figure out what he wants to charge for a new pattern and then add on fabric price and labor. I mean if u say u want a WS but with different pockets, a new pattern won't be needed but if u want a jacket like I posted, that will require a lot more. Manny also needs to figure out if he wants to order a few yards of fabric for each custom request or if he wants to dictate what fabric the customer can choose from. If he gives the customer the go on any fabric even if he doesnt have it, I would say the price will be affected. Also buying fabric 3 or 5 yards at a time wont get you any discounts from the supplier . Buying fabric as you go will add on at least 2 weeks because u have to wait for the fabric to be pulled from the suppliers warehouse and then shipped. Now if you happen to have fabric on order already I am sure everything will be held up even longer so that everything can be shipped together to save on shipping. I would offer my own fabrics first and then offer to source what a customer wants but you need to know what to buy for that to work. If you buy denim just to buy it you will eventually have denim sitting around with no return on your investment. I also wouldnt do to much experimenting where you make random size 30 jeans just to get something for sale. I would think every design out with fabric and thread color done perfect before I started throwing anything up for sale. Custom orders are guaranteed money but what a brand designs isn't guaranteed to bring in anything because you are hoping someone will buy what you think they want to buy. So pick 2 or 3 things you know customers want and then increase that as your market understanding gets better.

I'm probably going in on a custom fabric shirt. I was going to go in on the plaid above but I figured the 12 oz IH buffalo check Is my max but I am doing a heavy wool or possibly chambray.

I guess i was curious if Manny knows how to make a Type3 trucker. If so, what fabrics can he get, and how long would it take. I think price is usually an afterthought. I really liked the slim fit trucker that CF posted awhile back, but id have a hard time waiting 3-4 months for something like that. I think his price was $168 for a basic fabric and more for custom. I know there are a ton of variables to consider. I was thinking that manny should come up with a rough guide/pricing sheet to show what he charges for different types of clothing

He needs to create his brand image and right now he is more in the line of a tailor. I mean there isnt anything wrong with that but why use the name Indigogene if you are going to take custom orders . If i were Manny I would keep the 2 separate because custom can sometimes be damming if the customer has bad taste. He will also get sidetracked from actually creating a brand but thats up to what he wants to accomplish

Manny should do what Karl from Rogue Territory did. I believe he got his start doing custom jeans and then once he built his clientele developed and put out his own line. This approach makes sense - put out a few styles of jeans, shirts and maybe a jacket and build your brand.

I ended up giving the vest a hot soak because it was boxy and needed to be shrunk a bit. I may have used to much heat because the chambray back lost quite a bit of length so now its on the brink of never being worn

If the vest don't fit, you must acquit

bigblack, I'd say no, as waxing reduces breathability and would surely mess seats up when sitting. And as canvas seems to be more prone to shrinkage, I'd try to avoid rain whenever possible, so another reason not to need to wax.

Thanks wdw. Sadly it doesn't rain to often in LA, however I was going to wax for the purpose of protecting myself while riding my bicycle in the event of rain. BUT i can buy another beater pair of jeans for that purpose
