I'm in. Plan to probably do a combo of a single cuff/stacking as the initial soak left me with about 1/2" extra in length. I'll probably wear them 2-3x per week at the office and at least 1(maybe 2) weekend days. Honestly, I'm trying to limit my rotation to 5 of my 16 just so I can work on some fades with other denims (like I'm actually seeing progress on the Italian BlackXBlacks...seriously). Funny, after many months of ignoring my Italian BxB, I put them on a few days ago (after another puke fest on the Oki) and have really enjoyed them. They're probably my softest jeans, the G Slim fit works better for me for some reason with ten extra pounds and they're actually starting to show just the slightest hint of fades. I like these more than I thought. Who knew?

Yes (insert picture of early Metallica here), but they are surprisingly not sewn up like the Antiques, but they are super soft and are showing some sweet character in the main wear areas.

That's a ridiculous response. Mine is super low and I'd send it back if it weren't for the contest. But saying an unsanforized pair will magically gain an inch of rise if you pull hard enough? Come on. That's just an admission that you're not willing to suck it up and take responsibility for a whole batch that sewed up under spec. You guys don't have one of these in your basement?

I actually like the slim fit sized up much more than straight fit TTS.
I'm in will go straight/single cuff after hemming unless the inseam shrinks to about 34-35.
Casual wear. Drinking beer on the couch fades.

I have a pair for sale that has had a new button put in but its not perfect but should work. I imagine they would fit a 34 or loose 35.
Cheap.
Im waiting on my 38 hoho.

After pointing this out to them they have agreed to send me a new pair in size straight so hopefully the rise will be better in those. I'm gonna scald-soak the legs to try and shrink the hem.

Just go to a Holiday Inn Express, use the hot water spigot from the coffee machine to soak the legs, stuff the legs in a microwave, set to 99:99 and go read a book/kindle in the lobby.

That's good. If I weren't lazy (/if I hadn't sent back 3 pair for flaws in the past 6 mo), I'd have done the same thing. As it stands, I just look like a chubby, aging wannabe punk. Meh.

Boil them in the big kettle when your making sausages, gives a true patina and workingclass "aura" to them. If your on the coast - use shrimps instead!

Got my 37 straights in from Gustin. The rise and waist pre-soak are what a 36 straight should be, which is perfect for me because I want it to soak down to a 34/34.5 or so. So I am happy with that part of it. I just don't like a hem of 8.5 or higher, and post-soak that's where these are at (they'd probably be slightly bigger once hemmed), so off to Railcar for tapering and hemming. All in all though, at least I have a pair I can actually wear now.

I'm enjoying wearing in my sixteeners since they're gonna become second fiddle here in January.

Try them on for awhile before you get them tapered. My RailCars have a 8.5 and I wear them every nite to work. When I put my Gustins on which have Hems 7.25-8, they feel small now. Don't knock the 8.5" till you've given them some wear time.

I only have one pair around that hem, the Flat Heads, and I like them ok but they don't feel right to me and the lady things they look silly. I tend to agree with my body type. Others look great in that style. But I was born with tree trunk legs ha. They will never get any slimmer unless I shave muscle off hahaha. And wider legs just make my legs look even thicker than they are. I stopped wearing the Flat Heads because I felt uncomfortable in that old-school width. I dunno...just personal preference I guess.

I used to gravitate towards larger hems in the 8-8.5" width, but now they feel like bell bottoms on my frame. 7.75" is my sweet spot now.

Ok, post soak (I haven't taken measurements this time), these 37 straight fit perfectly in every portion of the jean except for the knees down, and that's personal preference. I wear a touch over size 34 these days for reference. These came in at 18.25" pre-soak waist using Gustin's measurement technique (spec for a tagged 36 straight), and a pre-soak cuff of 9" *(spec for 34 straight). The inseam was 36". They shrunk down to what feels like a little over a 34 inseam, I did measure the cuff and it's 8.5". And like I said, these fit like a snug glove on the waist for me and I wear 34 these days, and the rise is perfect. Not ass cracky like the slims.
So I'll just Railcar them to get a 33" inseam and a taper down to a 7.75" cuff.

whiskeyriver - I'm the same as you in that jeans just don't look good on me with a hem any wider than 7.75 - this expensive habit just get's more expensive!

Warm soak. They're dripping as we speak. Quick wet measurement on my size 35 looks like inseam is around 34" which I won't hem. Will just cuff or light stack.
My ass got a little bigger with the addition of 15 lbs so they'll be snug but hopefully they fit when they're dry.

Pre soak these were pretty dark. Post-soak very dark. Inky as the fibers have shrunk closer together. Hardly any weft shows through.
I'd compared them to the American Sixteeners which I really like for my dark denim.
The medium-dark brown weft is really cool. I think these are definitely going to be antique-y as the name fits. With a good fade.
I don't put that amount of time in denim but I expect to see some good fades here.

These are CRISPY. Should provide for good combs and whiskers but will probably soften quickly like the Japan Classics. JC are great denim.
They shrank tight but I was able to button on the first go so I expect some stretch. I couldn't tuck in a shirt but they're not hurting me. Rise is LOW. Front is fine but nobody need to see my crack so I'll pair with longer shirts.
We'll see how these work out. Tried em on now hanging in closet until Jan 1.
Oh inseam shrank to 34 so I don't plan on hemming. At 34 I can double cuff. 33 is ideal for me I can single cuff or wear straight but I view these as shrink and wear em.
