Wow, that's the largest large I've seen on IH. That's more of an XL. So what will you do now?

I cant buy another L and hope mine was a messup. The only sane thing to do is buy an XL and hope its also small. There is alot one can do with heat to mold denim smaller, but if its too small from getgo ur screwed.
So I gave a note on the IH forum.

That sucks Griffin. I mean technically all the measurements are within an acceptable spec range IMO but if it doesn't fit to your liking then it means nothing. Where did you buy it? Japan or IHUK? If you bought from Japan I'd just throw it up for sale. I've never had trouble selling an IH shirt.

So down to .2 then you wouldnt think .4 is within ok? This means the XL in 24 could actually be all from 23,6" to 24,4" ? That feels like lottery and I thought we got IH and the likes to not play the lottery anymore. Im in a little bit of a bad mood yeah. I dont actually care about the money, its just money, but its a bit of a pita to try again. I think Ill try a hand wash and see if it holds size, then it could be wearable just a little long. I really wanted to be able to wash this in warm like time and time again and really beat it, now I have to baby it so thats the bad mood part.

Im a little pissd off tho bc it came in small. I just can´t seem to have a break with shirts coming into specs. I dunno what to expect here you tell me, but these are the amounts of too small it came in: Shoulders: -0,3" Chest: -0,4" Sleeves: -0,2" Length: +0.1" So I really need some extra in the chest to hope it shrinks some in the length since all shirts are too long for me. Isnt it f!@king hilarious that the length actually came in slightly longer then spec and the 2 measurements most critical to try and shrink is the shoulders and chest that already came in with the amount I had as a buffer. Who is messing with me here? I dunno, Im pissed off bc if it had been to specs it would have been perfect, so If I get an XL and it does come in to specs..well... Not even a half inch at the most off doesn't seem that bad. It can be tough to get consistent accurate measurements with fabric stretch how things lay etc. I am all for specs being that accurate but not sure if it is possible.

Good to know. I feel 0.5" is a little much on fabric, since Aero has 0.5 on front quarter horsehide and thats custom measures, these are all standard patterns, but if this is normal then I will have to calculate in 0.5" ontop of my smallest measure next time.

Griffin, that sucks. You've earned 10 good shirts in a row worth of karma.

Good news is It stretched good damp so it actually fits very nice now. Im not gonna be able to beat it in the machine like i had planned, but since i can wear it and prbably wash it handwash its not a total loss. Still have to live with the length tho, bc cant try and shrink it one bit, but I guess its gonna bunch up a little bit since its very thick so might work out here aswell.
Its not what i hoped for, and its a little tight in the shoulders but its totally wearable after stretch I think it even got a little bigger!
Will take pics later.

Impossible to take good pics at home but maybe you see its trim on the chest, snug on the shoulders and too long. The length also covers my antire ass in the back. Here you can see it pulls alittle on the button:

The chest might relax a bit after getting some wear, after all, it is denim.

I wouldn't say it's too long.

The chest might relax a bit after getting some wear, after all, it is denim. Yeah but remember it isnt washed yet. And it would be kinda nice to be able to throw on the newly washed shirt and just go out and not having to break it in after wash just to look like it fits me and not too small. This is now a "high maintenance" piece and not a "goto" piece. I will try the XL.

I've got an IH flannel coming my way, and hope it is not a "high maintainance" shirt, as the XXXL is as small as I can go in IH sizing for those.

So btw it doesnt show on pics but the inside pocketflaps are lined. The collar is also lined on the underside. The lining is the same color as the shirt.
I feel its a very Nice touch.

Hi griffin, how tall are you and what is your chest? I'm 6'2" and almost 43" chest, considering L, or should I go with XL?

XL turned out really good. I like the fit. A bit longer body but I haven't soaked it yet. But should I? I like it the way it is now.

I guess it depends on whether you intend to hide it from life and weather. If you don't want to be afraid of getting sprayed with water and never wash it, then don't worry about it. It's typically a good idea to get any shrink out of it before you put a lot of wear on it if you're going for high contrast fades, as I understand it.
