If you're looking for fades, I have yet to see any Italian denim that really brings much potential. It looks nice for a long time, but it doesn't really bleed like Japanese denim. Someone will prove me wrong in 3, 2, 1...

What do you guys think of the "Gustin Blue/ Black Italian (#69)"? I have the BlackXAqua, same weight and italian fabric also, of witch i'm not a big fan. These did not stretch a lot, and i cannot see any fades... Do you have any experiences with Blue/Black? It couldn't be any more different than the black x aqua unless it were made in Japan. I've never been able to wear min -- 33 straight that came in smaller than the 32 slims for sale on the board elsewhere. It's a pretty unique fabric, one I wish that the Cone Blue Black was closer to -- the blue is a lighter shade than any of the saturated ixi or ixb I've seen which are a dark navy close to black, and the #69 is more dark blue than dark navy, if that means anything to you. My Cone BxB's have hardly faded at all, my Japan Royal Indigo have passed them in much less hard wear (but still nothing hugely exciting as far as fades. If you're looking for the dramatic Pure Blue Japan or N&F E4 fades, I don't think you're going to get them out of Italian fabrics, especially at the weights they offer. I haven't seen anything crazy, but I also haven't put six months of straight wear on a pair of them. I might be able to do a comparison pic later tonight if the colors come out in pictures.

The Italian Blue Black #69 is definitely the rarest, up until that Japan IxB popped up in the Gustin store (prolly funded by now). Honestly that is probably your best bet so far of the Gustin offerings to see a dramatic fader ixb out of Gustin. The Japanese indigo seems to be a little bit less sticky compared to the Italian or American.

And it's not even close. But they are very much the exception that proves the rule, in my experience.

Not wanting to take away from Gustin but my Naked and Famous E4 sound like the kind of fabic/fades you are looking for. Super deep indigo warp and black weft. There are thick at 22oz. They do go on sale at times. I suppose it is possible the Blue/Black 69 might get some of this fading but haven't heard of any G fabric doing this so far.

Went to the short-shirt party in the sky? His account is not listed in the members list, perhaps his accountant deleted it for him :-P

What happened to @wils / MiddleAge? Because we would rather be open about things than not. wills/middleage deleted his account of his own accord. He had had some complaints about some of his posts and we talked to him about it. Not even an official warning. We think he over reacted, but it is his choice.

Bugala - you've a lot of QC issues with G if I recall correctly - that sucks. Can they fix these ones?

A lot of us have had QC problem with Gustin. I would say 25% of my orders had an issue. Some big some small.

If it's just the pocket bag for the love of God just have somebody's grandma fix it for you! NIxP are awesome, I wore them today (am wearing them now) and really love their uniqueness.

the pocket bag's been folded in half essentially and sewn up.
honestly, i'm not a fan of the denim and wasn't happy when i opened them up. was excited that i had a reason to send them back. they sure aren't making it easy for me to work through my store credit though.

Oh man I know that feeling. I've been super lucky that both times I received items I didn't really want were the only two times I recd truly out-of-spec items. Having a clear reason to return does make it feel better (I hate being "that guy").
I personally like the NIxP, but also had a somewhat negative reaction out of the bag. They're so.... blue. And then you wear them and they have an odd purple vibe to them.
However, white on top and the right shoes underneath and these pants really surprised me. I thought they were destined for the "collected, but otherwise unworn" pile, but after today I think they'll have a place in the summer rotation. My $0.02 I guess.

i dig the color of them (but they're not that unique...N&F, RgT and others have done similar releases) but they come out a bit lighter in weight than I expected and have a strange hand feel to them. Maybe I've just grown too accustomed to my heavier weights over the past few months.

First round of NIxP's were total sleepers that barely squeaked through funding (or were assisted, since they made a micro campaign curtain call a week or so after the first campaign closed). I think everyone who ordered them were imagining their potential, optimistic, and pleased with the product in the end. Their light weight make them basically the only other pair of casual denim I wear in Singapore, other than my kakishibu loomies.

Mine are coming in tomorrow, I'll take measurements and PM you. What is it you are not sure about? Are they a let down? I was really bummed I missed out on them the first campaign after reading and seeing Mattberts review, and have built up (probably) too much expectation for them. ?? (edited because I rambled on like someone who rambles on a lot, which I do ...a lot. Like I'm doing now. And now.)
