When we got these stickers in our hands we got really excited. They have a buttery soft texture and will fade beautifully over time.

Are they printed in organic indigo? Should I wash my sticker?
In the spirit of all things tonal, they should offer a totally blank sticker and call it tonal.

But for serious, same problem I have with a lot of the campaign pics: what f*@king size is the model? Is that an 11, 13, or 15 inch macbook?

Here it is, in case some of you don't get it, for whatever reason: Hey! Now that all of the qualifying Heavy Americans and American Sixteeners have shipped, we wanted to reach out with the official Fade Contest rules. Over the course of this contest you will receive four emails (this one + May, July and September). Within seven days of receiving each email (including this one!) you need to: Post a picture of your jeans to Instagram with the hashtags #weargustin and #gustinfadecontest Reply to this address (contest@weargustin.com) with your picture attached, and your instagram user name After the final email we will choose our favorite fades and will confirm the winner has submitted the four Instagram posts. The winner will receive a check for $1000 and a fresh pair of Gustins. Note: to claim your prize, you will be required to return your jeans to us permanently. Happy wearing and we can’t wait to see the final results. For some motivation, here’s a Rawr Denim feature about some seven-month old Heavy Americans that have been put through the ringer: bit.ly/1DWlNfl They’re now proudly hung up in our shop’s wall of fades - hopefully your jeans will join them shortly. The Gustin Team Ren, Josh, Stephen, Sarah, and Sam P.S. If you have any questions about the contest please contact us at team@weargustin.com

Haven't heard from him in over a month. Yeah.. interesting omission from the list of Gustin team members. I would really love to hear the story about what went down with him leaving, assuming there is a story to be told. He was the heart of the company as far as I'm concerned.

Yes he's gone, I forget where but pretty sure we confirmed it. As for leaving, if you've ever worked at a small start up you know they require 150% of your life. When you're married you either quit your marriage or quit the start up lots of times. Even as a single guy I remember 80 hour weeks making me wonder if I was wasting my life. Now I know that when I see a company with 10 employees I'm really seeing 10 people do 100 people's jobs.

He was the heart of the company as far as I'm concerned. For real. If it wasn't for Cody, I wouldn't have even owned a pair of Gustins. I created an account in March of last year, but mistyped my email address. I made two orders with that account, but decided in the end I wanted to cancel. I couldn't sign in, because I didn't know what was my account name. Emailed Gustin. Stephen didn't understand what I was trying to say, and told me my orders have been charged. I asked them to cancel my orders, but Stephen said it wasn't policy for them to cancel my orders. But Cody intervened, got the details to my card, and canceled my orders and refunded my credit card. Because of that, I decided to try the crowdsource thing again. And every misstep of the way, Cody was there to refund me. Sucks he's no longer with the team. Everything is speculation, but I'm sure he wanted to make right when all the problems started to go down at Gustin with bad sizing and delays. Even came here to answer some questions, even though he really didn't need to do so. May not have answered all of the questions, but he made an effort, an effort that some here scoffed at. Good luck to Cody, wherever he decided to take his talents to.

But I don't think anyone will find a CS position for LD to be appetizing.

I just got the fade contest email, too. I've had my Heavy Americans since September. Now, I don't put a ton of wear on my jeans the way other guys do, since I mostly have a desk job and about 10 pairs in rotation, but how the hell am I allowed in this since people have apparently just got their jeans? I've already got probably 20 wears in! Some guys would have several months in! Weird to anyone else? It just seems a little unfair or something...

I'm not sure if I'm joining or not, if they need to be unworn as of yesterday, then I'm disqualified because they went Red October on communicating the contest until the 30 other campaigns they ran for those same jeans completed and shipped. The original draw is gone, and they increased the playing field by probably at least 10-15 times the original implied size after the fact, which is a pretty shitty way to run a contest.

I have mixed feelings about the contest. I don't really want to create an instagram account, nor do I want to put my name out there for shameless product promotion. I also don't want to be obsessing about the fades every time I wear them, and I think doing the contest would make me not want to wear anything else, limiting my wardrobe for 6 months. No thanks. I could maybe get some good wear when cycling, but I hate wearing jeans when I ride. There's just too many lifestyle changes for 6 months that I wouldn't do for the slight possibility of winning $1,000

So I had a good experience today with Gustin. I have four shirts in the pipeline all of which the size has been locked in on at an XL classic fit. So I've been cutting lately and I thought I should try a slim fit but unfortunately my sizes were all locked in and I could only edit shipping on them. I figured what the hell, I'll shoot Gustin an email and see if by chance I can still change my size...maybe someone ordered an XL slim and cancelled or something. Nothing to lose. So about a half hour later I get two emails from Gustin saying that they were able to change the size on two of my four shirts for me from XL classic to XL slim. Then shortly after that I get an email from Stephen Powell asking how I'm doing, long time no talk, etc...and then saying he was able to change the size on two of my shirts and asked if that was ok.
Pretty cool, I was really not expecting that. I have to say that even if Cody is gone the Gustin CS has still been extremely prompt and helpful to the best of their ability.

While I don't see myself ordering much from Gustin anymore, one thing I could never knock is their CS. Always had a good experience with them.

What do you guys think of the "Gustin Blue/ Black Italian (#69)"? I have the BlackXAqua, same weight and italian fabric also, of witch i'm not a big fan. These did not stretch a lot, and i cannot see any fades... Do you have any experiences with Blue/Black?
