Anyone else in on one of the Lawless leather jackets? I had been looking for about 5 months now for a leather jacket... Once i saw the Citizens Jacket, i knew it was the one. Now, i know there are a few "jacket guys" in here (Old26 has a custom jacket made from mastodon scrotum en route, i believe), and I've seen the Aero stuff, Alexander and the LostWorlds stuff.... But living on a tropical island, i can't see myself dropping THAT much for a jacket right now. I think this one will be gorgeous, and fit my needs for years to come. I'll probably grab a classic biker for my "long haired translator" too.

I'll probably grab a classic biker for my "long haired translator" too. Well, some of the "nuts" here have a closet full of them. That would be me. I'm down to 6 leather jackets now though and about 6 other types as well. I sold/flipped/donated about 8 jackets in the last 18 months. If I lived somewhere that was colder, I could justify keeping them all, but I don't. Also, got to the point where I realized I wasn't getting enough wear on them to give me the patina I wanted. Winterland and Grif know this all too well... If I were you, I'd visit the forums first like 'thefedoralounge.com" and "vintageleatherjackets.org" and check the for sale/classifieds. eBay is OK too if you don't mind the fees, etc. Look to get something used. BUT - even more important than jeans - know your fit numbers. Jackets are all about those as most guys will tell you. The better your physique (not meaning you have to be in great shape) the easier it is. Guys with 40-44 have way more options in the used/vintage markets as well. See what LD has up their leather biker sleeves...

I already pulled the trigger on it... I opted for brown. I really like the look of it.
Speaking of "used" leathers..... I passed on an old Aero leather jacket for like 6months here at a thrift shop in Okinawa. I had no idea what i was looking at. I knew i like it, but against my shopaholic nature, i didn't buy it. Fast forward, I'm checking out leather jackets online, and i come across the vintage A Section on the Aero website. I passed on an ¥8000 ($80) purchase, and saw the same exact style on that website for like $600+!!!!! Talk about missing out

Otherwise, that's starting price and in pounds sterling! Too bad you missed out - I posted a similar story a few years back on TFL about a kick-ass buffalo hide jacket I passed on at the Rose Bowl flea market. $125. Probably a $900 jacket, and it was vintage. Why? No go**amn clue. I just did and it has nagged at me ever since... AS the saying goes - you only regret the ones you don't buy.

Thurston is a good place in the US for jackets from a number of makers - including Aero.

I had no clue that Mr. Randal was the singer for The Killers. (someone who knows/likes the killers will recognize the uncanny resemblance) And BTW Dirty_Denim . . . i love the front of that jacket--too bad the back isn't as clean as the front.

Yea I def dig the fit of it. The front without a doubt is stronger than the back. I think its the(stitch patterns) that may throw off the back a bit.

I love the caferacer pattern but think most are too messy. LD`s is ok but I find the kidneypanel too big and the western inspired yokes doesnt fit this pattern for me. My Aero is pretty much perfect. I love the color the "friend" has in Due-Date, in my memory atleast it was pretty cool. I didnt know I had more jackets then Scott tho. Also sold and got rid of a few but have 8 now. And 5 others. I really need a heavy lined longer halfbelt tho. Maybe tweed-lining. I feel I have a gap between the mustardcotton lined Highwayman and the Alpaca-lined cheyenne. A slightly longer Alpaca or tweed lined Highwayman might work. Could actually get it in cordovan, or maybe that new vegtanned stuff. Dunno how it will handle the humidity of the season I will used it tho. Um...what was the question here? My Aero caferacer: Modified back:

Nice . I'd like a simple jacket like that, but without any chest pockets.

Dirty_Denim once I get the reproduction jacket, I'll post photos (or you guys can take professional photos and post). I think it would be a nice style to offer and that's why I suggested it to Roman.
