i've still got a huge freaking backlog...i don't need the items i order anymore - it's a wants-based purchased so the waiting doesn't bother me too much. like others have mentioned though, their pants quality (denim/chinos) is much better than their shirt quality and i will be holding off on the shirts for the foreseeable future. the pants i'll continue to pick up as interesting materials arrive. i was walking through the office earlier this week in the cream-slate flannel and saw something below my head in my periphery...my shirt was untucked but still billowed out, making me think i had a chestburster about to escape.

Edit Shipping button disappeared off of the Italy Brown X Black chore coat . . . Yep, got the shipping notification. Mine will be here Thursday. Chore coat arrived yesterday. Its really nice actually and the cut/fit is better than the other chore coat I got (not as big/boxy at the bottom), but man, the material is kind of thin for a jacket. More of an overshirt really, but, like I said, mine fits me well and I really like the material. Keeper.

it's definitely thin - wore it as an overshirt today. i'm not happy with the collar personally and i like the fabric more than i thought i would but it is very light.

This will probably sound ridiculous, but if it is roomy enough, i may have a liner made for it out of windstopper/zero cfm fabric (think northface softshell jacket).

doesn't sound ridiculous at all - it's a nice enough fabric to warrant that. it's actually sized a bit larger than my waxed chore coat so you might have the room to do that.

That's the first thing I thought of when I put it on, "this thing needs a liner." Of course, I live in Atlanta so I'll probably actually get a lot of wear out of it in the spring and fall.

Alright fellas, so I've only got a few items left in the pipeline and I received one of them today, the Rustic Blue Twill shirt. This was probably the least excited I've ever been while waiting for a GUSTIN item because of the recent run of poor quality I've seen from G, plus I decided to go for an XL this time as I've been getting a bit bigger so I was very uncertain if the XL would fit. After all, I was swimming in my size L WS. I received the shipping notice the other day and I was thinking "great, here's another shirt I'll probably return for credit". Well I opened it up tonight and I must say....damn, I was actually very pleasantly surprised. This a GREAT fabric imo guys, really. One thing I will never take away from G is that they really do pick great shirt fabrics. I pulled it out of the package and admired the fabric for a bit, once again thinking how awesome of a shirt this would be if GUSTIN would have sewn this up in more of a WS type pattern like Mattbert mentioned the other day. Not necessarily a textbook WS, but just something with less drastic scoops, a regular collar without buttons, and maybe another pocket with some flaps. I don't hate the cut and style of the G shirts like some, it's just not my favorite style but I can still wear it. So I unfold the shirt to try the bad boy on and see how the classic XL fits me and bam....once again I was very pleasantly surprised. The XL classic is actually a pretty damn good fit on me. The best fitting G shirt I have so far, 1,000 times better than my WS. This shirt is actually going to be a keeper, I really couldn't believe it. The fabric is great, soft, warm, substantial, and a great pattern and color scheme IMO. It also has the new, thicker buttons which are much better. However, there are some cons to this shirt. Once again, the quality in the craftsmanship is not there as the placket and pocket are out of whack. Looks like whoever sewed my shirt hit the happy hour for lunch break that day. GUSTIN should really take care of this, but with that being said it's not enough to make me want to return it. I like everything else about the shirt too much. BTW, it seems the scoops aren't as drastic on the XL. Could just be me but I will mmeasure them later. So here you go fellas, pics courtesy of the Ickes potato cam; imgur.com/a/REmFtThe first two pics show the misaligned placket and pocket. Third pic is just to show the colors/pattern, then the rest are fit pics.

The fabric looks really nice but that pocket looks pretty far off in the close-up shot. I think the red line in particular accentuates it. The good thing is it's not noticeable on the fit pics.

jamesr, yeah it is off for sure and the placket seems to get worse the farther down the shirt you look. Funny thing is I never paid attention to this stuff till you guys started pointing it out . Thanks guys! I might contact Cody and try to make an exchange for one with a straighter placket and pocket on second thought. Dunno, guess I'll sleep on it.

Not sure how receptive they're being, but they seem to have been appreciative the last couple times I've done it, and again, I like to believe that if they know about the issues they can do something about it if they care to, but if they don't there's no chance they'll even do anything. I'm down to a bunch of stuff that's looking like it'll get here while I'm on vacation, Am16er, Wabisabi, BxB WS, Caramel Chino, and the Japan Blue Slate shirt (I'm expecting the first week of Feb on this one).

That's great fabric Ickes. Looks good, man. On the misalignment, it's honestly a bit amazing at this point to still see this stuff coming out....your plan to drop a note to let them know about these issues is spot on. We talk about it a lot here and it might seem like a dead horse to some but it's still good to let them know each time it happens.
Since everyone is laying out their Gustin pipeline, I've got the Wabi Sabi and BrownXBlack WS's and after massive amounts of pondering, I backed the Army Green Duck Chinos as I had good luck with the Brown Duck Chinos.

Classic Belt in Black and Shirt Grab Bag. I can't wait to see what I get from the shirt grab bag. I'm guessing it's going to be an Oxford but I don't mind since I don't have any of their oxfords.

thanks @stevekas. I think I will drop GUSTIN (Cody) a note on this. ickes let us know what they say about the alignment. those pockets and placket are really unfortunate. even more unfortunate that it's a repeated issue. that fabric however does look great.

agree with everyone above, the material's great. i thought they were getting their alignment issues under control. my moss navy turned out remarkably well.
