Well, the Postman was very nice to me today. Got my shipment of Old Blue Denim Co. jeans out of Indonesia. Dudes...these jeans are amazin'. I grabbed the "19 Oz. Plain Selvedge Indonesia" unsanfordized loomstates in the 8.25" cut. I bought the 8.25" cut because I thought I'd try my hand at a straight cut for a change, and the hem/leg opening is not a wide 9"+ like some straight cuts out there. That cut works for some, but for me it makes my legs look even trunkier than they the trunkiness they already exude. The cut on these is very tasteful. Post-soak sizing is supposedly as follows (i say supposedly as I have not soaked mine yet):
The fabric is Indonesian-milled. And it's gorgeous. GORGEOUS. Here are the details:
• 19 oz indigo denim, from Indonesia
• Oldblue exclusive-run fabric
• Loomstate, unsanforized
• 100% selvedge, 100% cotton
• White selvedge line
• 11 oz indigo/white hickory pocket lining from Indonesia
• Slim straight fit, medium rise
• Silver "Laurel Leaf" iron plated doughnut button, made in Japan
• 100% copper washer-burr rivets, made in Japan
• Hidden rivets
• Raised belt loop
• Raised back pockets
• Raised front pockets
• Natural veg-tanned patch made from Indonesian cow hide
• Hand-stamped patch
• Open seam construction (with the selvedge line) from bottom to top
• Two-tone double felled inseam construction
• Two-tone chainstitched hem
The fabric itself is a beautiful natural indigo blue. Bluer than a lot of denims out there these days. I can see these fading to what old-school Levis look like. But hairier. But it's not goofy bright blue like some stuff run by Gustin. This is classic indigo bluejeans blue. But there is variation in color throughout in an amazing way. Very mottled but not fakey mottled. Just very natural and understated. It's a great color. And boy howdy are they hairy, right out of the box.
Ok, so pics (click for full size):
HAIRY!
Ahmad, the owner/proprietor of this denim line is a great guy, too. Very easy to work with. I definitely recommend these very highly.
