After messing around with cheap steamers, I bought a US made Jiffy. Highly recommend. www.amazon.com/dp/B0000665TD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ObtEyb0JGECNHKnocks creases right out of shirts and chinos, allowing for more wears per wash, if you're into that sort of thing. Also makes suits and woolens look 1,000x better and knocks out the wife's blousey things in seconds. I just got the plastic head, but the metal lets you press a crease if you don't want to take the time to also use an iron for that. ive been looking to get a steamer for a while. Been spending too much on dry cleaning just because I'm too lazy to take care of my clothes/iron them.

Faded blazers?! I feel like ripping my Gustin watch band off and burning it. hmm I just remembered I had one too. After going Guarded Goods and Ashland, I haven't looked back.

london is a lot of fun, like a fancier Seattle. I'm staying in soho so everything is walking distance. Just got my feet sized at C&J in case I jump in some SF gmtos. Make it to Jermyn street yet or don't trust yourself there? thats where c&j was.

i haven't worn any denim in general lately. When I do, I usually reach for the Taupes. I'd make fun of you if I hadn't worn my Oni Olives yesterday. I'm at Rivet and Hide right now, and it may have been a mistake. The IHSH-156 is super nice and substantial. Might buy it and try to sell my 142. You may consider selling your 142 after Rakuten pulls its US IH sales. Any Nine Lives products besides the letterman jackets? not sure, they didn't have much. Very small space. Reminds me of Brick + Mortar in Seattle.

I want a pair of color #8 shell tankers from Alden, probably the one on ePaulet, but besides that, I will only use the money I get from returns and gift cards. Very nice. Do they have your size? I would give up like 4 pairs of my boots to get a pair of them. they do, but I want to sell a couple pairs before pulling the trigger on them.

Anyone get a plaid (thinking red) moto shirt that can tell me what you think of it? It's not tempting at full price but 20% off might convince me. Mine sewed up horribly. The alignment is so bad it hurts my eyes. It's only in one spot, but it is VERY noticable. They fold over the fabric to create the placket, and in one spot they pulled the fabric in and sewed the button hole around that pull. It's very strange. One button hole is sewed crooked, and the rest are straight, but it causes the fabric to bow in, straighten, and then bow out over about 4-5 inches of the shirt. On a patterned shirt that causes chaos. On a shirt with pockets it is even worse. The pockets aren't spaced identically. There is almost a half inch variance in spacing, and the flap pocket is crooked. I e-mailed them and asked what they wanted to do. I don't want to send the shirt back because they don't have anymore 40s for me to exchange, and I love everything else. That said I expect more for a $100 shirt. I don't want to have to completely rebuild the placket and sew new button holes. Pictures below. What do y'all think? return it and hope it comes back.

The British Museum is the first on my list of places to visit. They have an extensive collection of artifacts related to Biblical history, and that's one of my major interests. I'll also be there a day before my brother so I intend to spend the first day hitting up all the clothing and footwear stores, since my brother has zero interest in any of them. C&J to get fitted for Lindricks and Dundees and EG just because. Probably try to get to Rivet and Iron Heart as well. Then after the first day I just want to eat, drink, and see the sights. Not into non-American football, so I may pass on that, but if my brother wants to go, I won't mind. Thanks for the bar etiquette tips, bentin! Gonna come in handy.

I am looking for a warm wool coat. Something that is in between fitted and loose so I can layer it. I don't love double breasted, but I'd consider it. Sub $500 would be ideal. Something versatile that I can dress up or down. Peacoat is the obvious solution but I've just never been a fan of the double breasted, and every peacoat I've ever owned has been so boxy. i have both the dock peacoat with thinsulate from Jcrew and the bond peacoat from Billy Reid. The bond peacoat is less boxy and more flattering, but doesn't keep me very warm. The dock peacoat is pretty boxy, but it's warm AF. Wear thermals under the bond peacoat and you'll probably be able to brave freezing temps.

I didn't actually search to see if there's a thread like this, so if there is, I'd appreciate a merge.
I'm going to London for 8 days on Monday. Any ideas of what to go see or do? I'll be there with my brother. We're going to airbnb a joint near soho. And will I stick out like a sore thumb if I wear merino wool henleys for the entirety of the trip? On an unrelated note, Taylor Stitch makes amazing merino wool henleys, highly recommend.

I paid $745 for my Viberg Natural Waxed Flesh boots and I'd do it again. I agree I wouldn't pay full price with certain colorways that are pretty widely available, but the natty WFs on 1035 last is only made by Viberg, and so can only be had for full price. And they're worth it imo. Feel indestructible and go well with all my outfits. The last and leather combination is only made by Viberg? I think that's what your saying because I'm pretty sure Natural Waxed flesh can be sourced? i meant the Natural Waxed Flesh in the 1035 last was only offered on Viberg.com, not at any stockists.

I just found a pair of service boots, color 8 cxl, cap toe, for a little under $500, with a Boxing day discount. Would I be crazy not to grab them ? Somebody push me, one way or the other, please. Edit: they are in the cart... Thats a pretty great price for them. Only cheaper price would be during the sample sale, but that's not guaranteed to have your size and style in stock, and it costs some to get there if you're not a NYC resident.

Some People! (wasn't sure how to name this thread). So I have a bunch of middle income rental properties (mostly 2 family houses). I keep the rents below market by $100 or so. Smaller, Clean, well lit, safe, nice neighborhood living. So the other day I'm removing snow and the 20 year old son comes down and yells at me that there's No Heat! And it's been only 10 degrees lately. News to me. So I ask how long has it been as I want these things fixed in hours not days. He says the apt has Never had heat! what?! So go into the apt and it's Hot (like 75 degrees). You have heat I say. He says there's no heat in the bedrooms. Yes I say, it's a gas central heater (like a gas fire place). As I look around, nearly Every window is wide Open! What the Hell do you have your windows open for?! And since when!? He says, We never closed them since Summer! should have titled this "people are stupid."

Sorry, Photobucket isn't working for me right now and Amazon is making direct links tricky. So here's a stock photo. Just imagine a lot of indigo crock on the upper half. With Redwings and Wolverines, I just stick them on my Amazon wishlist and check the prices daily until they hit a decently low price. I think I got the above RW's for $160. i have the made for Jcrew version of those RWs. Easily my favorite beater boots ever. Got them on steep sale for like $130.

Starting this thread as I did not see any for C&J First off are my Shell Dundees that I got in on a recent MTO. Unfortunately this being my first pair of C&Js, I sized incorrectly and these are half a size too big. Still debating if I want to keep these and use an insole. Also recently picked up these Skye 2 which are on the same last as the Dundees in my correct size and they fit perfect on me. what is your brannock and what size did you go in these?
