I just read on Heddles of the new Oni Blue in Green colab. They are 160z low tension weave cut in the 622 relaxed tapered fit. The warp is indigo dyed and weft is Sumi ink dyed. The special details are black enamel coated steel buttons and black powder coated copper rivets and herringbone twill pocket bags. price $250.00 If I was in the market for new denim I would consider these. I don't recall anybody using sumi ink for the warp before. I have a pair of the Naked and Famous Sumi ink coated denim and these are looking great! So, I think the sumi ink weft in these Oni's will fade even better. Considering how slubby the slow tension weave is. here is a link to them on Blue in Greens site. oni 622 colab jean
I bet these will sell out pretty quickly.

Well considering that the Oni secret 20.oz black denim is pretty hard to obtain, I would for sure buy them If I was in the market for new denim. I own a pair of Oni 277XX in 16.5oz weight. they are great jeans! I am very glad I pulled the trigger on a pair of Oni's The texture of the neppy and slubby oni denim is hard to describe but I love the feel of them.

Anyone want to guess what factory this denim is from in Japan. My guess is Kurashiki Tenryo Denim/The Srike Gold. Or The Japan Blue Group/Momotaro. The denim resembles the "Monster" selvedge from Japan blue and some of the denim used for The Strike gold. But with the artwork on the tag I am leaning toward Japan Blue. If I have not already gotten the JB0626 "Godzilla" jeans from Blue owl; I would have been very interested is this pair from Naked and famous.

I also am interested in these new Xinjiang cotton jeans. Can Ikes or anybody else please give information on this type of denim material? I did read that the Chinese company "Sauce Zhan" uses this type of cotton on some of their jeans. Any other company's using this type of denim? If it is truly similar to Zimbabwean cotton; This pair of Left Fields at $155 are definitely under consideration for me.

hmm those looks dope, how is the fit/taper below the knees area? A severe taper to ankle. Also tight fitting at the ankle . But the top block portion of this jean is comfortable.

For Beard trimmers I have A good pair of barbers scissors for day to day trimming . I Have a used a Wahl trimmer if I get lazy and don't trim the beard for a couple weeks. I have used the Whal trimmer for years, but just last moth the motor gave up the ghost. So I purchased a Philips Norelco One-Blade trimmer and Love it! It has a lithium ion battery. As far as beard oil. It truly does help the condition of your beard And it makes your beard sell great!. I bought a few different brands of the oils. But I now make my own. It is much more economical that way. Beard oils can get expensive. I just read the ingredients on a couple of the bottles and made up my own blend. Here a couple links to the beard oils I have purchased in the past. link and link
I hope my post helps gaseousclay.

I did get the Japan Blue 0626 18oz High tapered jeans. or Weight lifter cut. When new, These jeans can sand up on their own! Very full of starch. And at 18 ounces not very flexible. I could not get the jeans buttoned up ! I did manage to get the top button fastened, So I wore them like that for about a day just around the house, The denim stretched just a little to walk around a bit. But I could not do anything in them, still too stiff&tight. So, night before last I soaked them in very warm water. A lot of starch was released. After drying I was able to button them all the way, And have been wearing them out and about. The denim is very rough/thick kind of like heavy canvas or a Rug for your floor. Woven very tight. I am going to wear them again today to see if they will loosen up a bit. The brown weft is very interesting, you can see it peeking through on the front of the jeans. I also like the hi rise waist. But be warned the tapered ankle is very tight! But lots of room in the upper legs. The construction on these Is top notch, But that is to be expected as these are from the same company that makes Momotaro jeans.

As a Christmas present to myself I want a new pair of jeans. I am kind of torn between the Japan Blue denim and the Strike Gold denim sold at Self Edge. But $235 for Japan Blue VS $335 The Strike Gold. decisions decisions?!? I think, I am going to make another pilgrimage to Blue Owl work-shop I want to see the JB0626 Gozilla denim in person. This blog post from indigoshrimp has gotten me very interested the Japan Blue Godzilla jeans. Here is the link to his post on the JBO-626 he owns Indigoshrimp-JBO626GodzillaI think the the fading potential on the Japan Blue is great. I have not seen many photo's posted about the Self edge/Strikegold denim?

I really like these for some reason? but I can't figure out why. I like that they are very unique from the other stuff PBJ does. 16.5 oz is my favorite denim weight and they are rope dyed indigo. and Kasuri type dyeing process. here is the link to the ks-013-wid from PBJ and Heddels link

So far I love them. With the Sumi ink coating the jean is pretty stiff at first wearing . But if you soak them once in warm water to soften them up a litte. Then beat them into submission. And you will have a great pair of unique jeans I soak them in the tub with a bit of woolight dark laundry soap if they get filthy. Here are some recent photos Of my Sumi jeans from just a few days ago. you can click the photos to see them larger
