Too gross or good gross? I'm inured to this kind of stuff so let me know if anyone wants me to take it down.

Funny that they released the Japan 21s again since they said "we can safely say these will never come along again" in the first release. I sized up from 34 skinny to 35 slim and am very happy with the results. They were a little big to start but after a very hot soak for 30 min and warm dry in the dryer they fit perfect.

Super slub Browns in the stock store. Weird because it hasn't been out in over a year. I wish I would have gotten in on them, I think the fabric looks amazing.

I tried to make a bare minimum wardrobe and so had only the Zimbabwe 15 and downtown brown for about 8 months. I couldn't help getting the Japan 21s and RTxBOW expeditions though so ended up with 3 pairs of indigo and 1 brown. The Zimbs are the hardest faders by far but are paying off finally after a full year of exclusive wear. The 21s made it in during the cold months but will soon go back to the drawer. When I wear through these 4 I plan to limit myself to 1 indigo, 1 brown and 1 IxI, since I don't do black jeans. Just to get it out of the way, ixi is a terrible substitute for black. If you want them to resemble jeans throughout their life make sure you find some with contrast stitching. How are the dtbs looking with some wear? They are ok. I had to wash them a few months ago and boy did they shrink. They also got some wierd vertical fades in the wash. They still look good but are a little too skinny for my taste. I'm going to try to wear them a bit over the summer to see if they relax again. If not, I may have to sell them and grab another pair. Speaking of brown denim, I saw a pair of super slub Browns in the stock store. It's weird because they haven't been around for years. I think the fabric looks amazing but have never seen fit pics or even just a pair sewn up. Anyone here have them?

Can we assume the workman shirt is not going to happen? It's been 4 months since we were told about the switch to brown/wabash. It's understandable if you guys are too busy but I just want to know if I should stop waiting and get one elsewhere.

I agree with Griffin. Those do look pretty rad, kylepa. Were they pretty starchy to start? Thanks everybody! They are not at all starchy. They have a very tight weave and are, in fact, buttery soft from the get go. It took a lot of willpower to wait to wear my RTxBOW expeditions. I've recently thrown them in the rotation since I'm satisfied with the wear on the Zimbabwes. It's killing me not to wash them but with a new baby on the way I'm sure something terrible will happen that will necessitate throwing them in the wash.

They are very hard faders. It's funny that that is a source of frustration as it's actually a sign of quality. My Japan 21s have as much fading in 3 weeks as the Zimbabwe 15s got in 3 months.

If moving on from their chinos, where have you started purchasing from? Their slim fit isn't as tampered as I would like however I like the fabrics and quality... where can I get a slimmer chino at similar quality and price? I've heard Taylor Stitch has a slimmer fit and similar quality. IMO Gustin's chinos are definitely one of their best products.

To add to the MiUSA comment, i think their coats/jackets might be made here. But, I think it's something like 'made in the US of imported fabric.' Correct. Like Japanese denim? The jacket fabrics are mostly from British millerain

I'm tempted as well. They are the same fabric as Gustin's indigo and brown slub chambray.
Also, imho The new work shirt fabrics should have been used for the California shirt

You have more restraint than I do. Switched the winter to summer shoes today. Holy shit how did this happen! Yeah, the restraint bit has been tough. It's been hard not to buy 5 indigo button up shirts, and like I said, restraint went out the window with indigo denim, but it's been nice to force myself to be content with the one indigo denim shirt I have. It's also motivation to beat the $#!+ out of it so I can get a cooler one. Though it's hard sometimes I'm definitely happier with less stuff.

When I got started on this whole raw, selvedge/ workwear/ MiUSA gig I came at it with the idea that I am supporting companies that manufacture in the US, which largely supports hard-working immigrants trying to make a better life for their kids. This is largely the group of people I saw sewing at Filson. At the same time, like others have pointed out, it's a style thing and entrance into a club of people who "get it" which is fine. I also wanted to get out of buying an excessive amount of clothing and buying redundant pieces of clothing. I've largely stuck to this except for with indigo denim, which I have 3 pairs of and its been very freeing and fun. I get to shop around and obsess over brands and styles, find deals, pick out a piece of clothing that fills a role and donate or sell all the gap, jcrew, etc stuff it replaces. The stuff does have a shelf life, like many have pointed out, but I feel ok spending the money because it was made ethically and will last a lot longer than gap/jcrew stuff. There are no clothes that just sit in the closet anymore and I love every piece I've bought.

Thanks but no thanks. I've decided the Freenote stuff just doesn't work for me. The style of the shirt looks great but I dislike the scoops and that their shirts seem blousey All their shirts are cut differently. My large rail stripe is slimmer than the Lancaster, has less scoop and gussets

Ditto, selling my large in red because it's a tad too big. I guess I could get some darts put in but it would make the back look weird

Warming to the ISC trousers. Are they fading at the knees? Dude, the ISC trousers are something special. They are indeed starting to fade at the knees, seams, phone fades, and tops of the thighs.

She's totally warmed up to it. We're both slow to do that but we both usually come around in the end.
