I blew out the crotch in mine. And I'm a couple lbs heavy right now. So mine are retired.

You're not wearing Buffalo Check or drinking PBR, so still need to work on that game. That, and using a snowblower instead of a shovel dating back to the late 1800s. Hmmmm. You're onto something there. I could sell shovels for $150 that are modeled after the ones my great great grandfather used in the backwoods of Maine.

I'm curious if the 48-72 hours of curing that otter wax recommends will result in much change in color

I got my canvas jacket yesterday! This weekend I'll be waxing it down. Ready for the return of winter in Boston on Sunday. (70 today but snow on Sunday.)

I've been wearing mine a lot the last week. They are so comfortable. I like how the pockets are designed. I can easily get my hands in and out. My gustin pockets are nearly useless.

The black steer I like. They look like Golden Bear to me. No button down collars kills me. I like the black and the #8. I won't be buying one though. Silly Brent. They're only to make you LOOK like you ride a motorcycle, not for actually riding motorcycles! It's funny though, we've been raging against button down collars for shirts for what seems like ages, jacket comes out, "WHERE'S THE BUTTON DOWN COLLAR?!" Exactly. It's a fashion jacket. It is not a good choice for proper riding gear. That's why Vanson and Schott (and others) exist.

The other side of the crotch promptly blew out after my wife made this repair. She lovingly darned that and a couple other little holes forming.
She said the denim is worn pretty thin throughout and isn't sure how long her repairs will hold. I may need to start thinking about a patching strategy.

Glad everything turned out great with your shirt. It looks like a winner! I hope you get some good evo on that bad boy.

I have a pair of unworn lawless jeans. I bet I could sell them for more on eBay by removing the patch and listing them as one-off Japanese selvedge.

Totally agree. The waist never got comfy for me. Thanks for the kind words tashdaddy and highlightsNo bike riding for combs but a good amount of urban hiking.

Seems you only got 6-8 months out of these.? Needle and thread should give another 2 or 3 months. Yeah. I wore them nearly everyday Oct - Feb. And they had occasional wear prior to that. That's not bad really. I'll get them repaired. The denim is too nice and the fades that are just starting are too sick.

Other brands probably make up samples, soak them, measure them and thus provide size guidance based on soaked denim. But that takes time, effort and prototypes that can't be sold (ie it takes money.) Gustin's production and price models don't allow for this. And when they're $140 that's cool. Hit $300 and maybe it's time to try a tiny little sliver of customer support on the front side instead of waiting for the shit storm on the back side. But add in the added product development expense and they can no longer sell them for $300. COGS becomes too high. I agree that without the upfront CS these are a huge gamble and I won't touch them. Just offering an explanation as to why other companies offer size guidance on washed examples and G doesn't.

No comment on the price or Gustin's business model. Purely commenting on the denim itself - it looks pretty amazeballs.
