DigDug asked on the G community and no one fessed up either. If it was a looped wheeled T I can see the price being that but not this one. And I still wouldn't pay 50$ for a t.

Sweet, Stone Magenta Twill has successfully funded. Here's to straight plackets and straight pockets. They just put up another campaign of the 1968 too. If you missed out on the Regular this looks like the next best thing....or better.

Been wearing them a lot, especially on days when I work at home. They're comfy and came pretty well broken in. Mine sewed up a little big but not enough to make a difference. They're no Heavy Americans, but for the weight, they're a good pair of jeans.

Do you think the '68s offer enough variation to make it worth backing them also?

Anyone have the 1968? Thinking about nabbing a 33 slim from the stock store to compare against my 32 slims. Decent denim?

Saw another post saying that Gustin is outsourcing production. Can anyone elaborate on that? I had the impression/understanding that their shop is in SF.
Also, say, if you are looking to get a pair of jeans at 13-13.5oz, what's a better option than the 1968 at a (somewhat) compatible price point? For me personally, I can probably get a pair of N&F raw denim (maybe selvedge too) for $100 when brick and mortar stores are on sale. That's $25 more (after tax/shipping) but I get my jeans right away and I know for sure the sizing/cut is correct.

This may be worthy of a sub-thread called "Not really new drops, but back in the store again"...as with the 7 miles of Midnight Plaid, I'm beginning to think G got a combo deal and scored an additional 7 miles of 1968 too.
For all the denim noobs, enjoy the 1968 as the classic American pair in your collection.

Woah, people want tonal thread?!
Let's not read too much into how fast expensive campaigns reach fulfillment. Without knowing quantities, it's a pretty meaningless metric. Now if the Insert Silk Neps Here campaign is the same quantity as the 1968, then yes, this is a shift in Gustin sales patterns.
I actually think we've seen a little bit of a recent split. One side wants unique, more expensive, possibly non indigo offerings and another wants value uber alles. The middle ground of mildly interesting fabrics at slightly expensive prices seems to have stalled.

I'm a fan of the BlackxCoals, wore them for outdoor and warehouse work a good bit last winter. Good weight, tough denim.
Be advised they do have a pretty strong sulphur smell. It goes away eventually, but yeah, they kinda stink.
I actually wish my Gustin apron was made of the Black x Coal fabric instead of whatever it is (I think its the Cone 1968 or something very similar, it was a Grab Bag and they never specified)

I've never understood the difference between the 1968 and the #68 Greensboro 1968 is lighter in person than the photos look. More of an old school shade of blue. Also has a kind of fuzzy surface up close
